Favourite Habs

  1. After a hard-fought victory in New Jersey, the Habs head to Ottawa for a second game of a back-to-back. Will they take the Senators seriously enough or will it be a San Jose-style letdown? We'll be looking forward to the new 14 to pot a goal or two tonight. Habs' lines: Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkovsku RHP - Evans - Gallagher Roy - Monahan - Armia Pezzetta - Stephens - Ylonen Guhle - Matheson Struble - Savard Harris - Barron Primeau Allen
  2. Did you know that the Habs have only met Devils once in the playoffs (and it did not end well)? I had not realized that ... Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkovsky RHP - Evans - Gallagher Roy - Monahan - Armia Pezzetta -Stephens - Ylonen Matheson - Guhle Struble - Savard Harris - Kovacevic Montembeault Primeau
  3. Another playoff team comes to the Bell Centre for a visit. Projected lines: Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkovsky RHP - Evans - Gallagher Roy - Monahan - Armia Pezzetta - Stephens - Ylonen Matheson - Guhle Struble - Savard Harris - Kovacevic Allen Primeau
  4. No idea about lines yet or who is starting in net. I do expect a much better game from the Habs after that Thursday stinker against the worst team in the league. Roy being called up is exciting. I’m hoping that he takes Anderson’s spot. Go Habs Go
  5. It's a battle of two Hall of Fame...mascots. vs
  6. From back in the day (thanks to tomh009) But Primeau starting in goal
  7. The Canadiens held an optional morning skate at the Bell Centre on Saturday ahead of their first of three meetings with the Eastern Conference-leading Rangers this season. On Friday, head coach Martin St-Louis confirmed that Samuel Montembeault would get the nod in goal against the Blueshirts. The 26-year-old netminder is 3-0-1 against New York in his career. Emil Heineman was recalled from the American Hockey League on Friday and was on the ice ahead of Saturday’s outing. St-Louis confirmed during his pregame press conference that the 22-year-old will be in the lineup tonight. The Canadiens' bench boss also said that the team will return to a 12 forward, six defenseman roster on Saturday. Johnathan Kovacevic will not dress against the Rangers.
  8. I haven’t seen any reports about Anderson but I doubt that he plays. His leg bent in a way that it shouldn’t! No word on starting goalie or rosters but I will update when they become available. Go Habs Go
  9. Lines to follow, starting goalie to follow. Habs could use a win and I hope Slafkovsky continues to put up points. Go Habs Go Edit - Marty says same lineup again:
  10. From www.nhl.com/canadiens/news: 2. The team will not hold a morning skate ahead of their tilt with the Cats but did take the ice on Friday at the Florida Panthers IceDen in preparation for tonight’s game. Head coach Martin St-Louis confirmed that Jake Allen will face the Panthers. 3. It will be a homecoming of sorts for Mike Matheson; the 29-year-old defenseman is expected to play his 500th career NHL game against the team that drafted him 23rd overall in 2012. That is all I've found about tonight.
  11. Carolina Hurricanes vs Montreal Canadiens Box Score - December 28, 2023 - The Athletic
  12. Likely the same roster and lines playing tomorrow. Primeau should get the start but we will see. Finally tested positive for covid after many negative tests over the last three years and the coughing sucks. I think a Slafkovsky hat trick would make me feel better. Go Habs Go
  13. Habs start a Christmas road trip on Monday. Sportsnet national broadcast means that we all get to watch the game at the cost of Garry Galley’s nonsense commentary. Oh how I pine for the good old days of cheap RDS feeds without these darn blackouts. Christmas roster freeze is coming soon but I wonder if one of our goalies might be playing for Carolina before then. Will post lines when they become available.
  14. Islanders are on a back to back so Habs should win tonight. Montembault in net Will post lines when they become available. I'm hoping for another end to end, give and go rush from Struble with a beauty goal to finish. Go Habs Go EDIT to add lines Looks like the same lineup and Evans is good to go: Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkovsky Monahan - Evans - Anderson Armia - Dvorak - Gallagher Pezetta - Stephens - Ylonen Monahan - Savard Guhle - Barron Struble - Kovacevic Montembault
  15. Pittsburgh Penguins (12-12-3) - 27 pts Montreal Canadiens (12-13-3) - 27 pts Guentzel - Crosby - O’Connor Smith - Malkin - Puustinen Zohorna - Eller - Hinostroza Harkins - Gruden - Carter Graves - Letang Pettersson - Karlsson Joseph - Ludvig Nedeljkovic Caufield - Suzuki- Slafkovsky Monahan - Evans - Anderson Armia - Dvorak - Gallagher Pezzetta - Stephens - Ylonen Matheson - Savard Guhle - Barron Struble - Kovacevic Montembeault Projected lineups.
  16. Montreal Canadiens vs Nashville Predators Box Score - December 10, 2023 - The Athletic
  17. Matchup between the 4th (Seattle) and 5th (Montral) lowest scoring teams in the NHL, who are also the 7th (Montreal) and 9th (Seattle) worst in goals against ... AND ... who are 7th (Seattle) and 10th (Montreal )in "winning" percentage (% of poins). No idea what all that will mean on the ice, but at least it is a "hook" to start the thread EDIT: the start time is 7:30
  18. With a win Habs could pull within 4 points of Florida.
  19. Armia has been recalled but I’m not sure if he will be playing. California sweep? These are yesterday’s lines:
