Favourite Habs

  1. It's the end of the world preseason as we know it...and I feel fine. Tonight, the exhibition schedule ends for the Habs as the host the Leafs as Shea Weber and Carey Price make their preseason debuts. (Roster, lines unconfirmed, based on their early practice group) Matt Martin - Auston Matthews - Mitch Marner James van Riemsdyk - William Nylander - Zach Hyman Milan Michalek - Nazem Kadri - Leo Komarov Connor Brown - Frederik Gauthier - Kasperi Kapanen (Smith, Rychel) Matt Hunwick - Morgan Rielly Martin Marincin - Nikita Zaitsev Connor Carrick - Jake Gardiner (Brouillard, Hrabarenka, Loov) Frederik Andersen Jhonas Enroth Sven Andrighetto* - Alex Galchenyuk - Brendan Gallagher Artturi Lehkonen - Tomas Plekanec - Alexander Radulov Daniel Carr - David Desharnais - Andrew Shaw Phillip Danault - Torrey Mitchell - Michael McCarron Nathan Beaulieu - Shea Weber Andrei Markov - Jeff Petry Alexei Emelin - Mikhail Sergachev Carey Price Mike Condon * - Pacioretty isn't taking the morning skate so he may wind up sitting this one out Puck drop is at 7:30 on RDS (Montreal viewing region) and TSN 4 (Ontario region) TSN 690 will have the call on the radio side.
  2. The Habs will look to get back in the win column (and continue their pattern of loss/win, loss/win, etc) tonight as they host the Bruins in the annual Quebec City game. This lineup also actually resembles the Canadiens instead of what they've thrown out there the last few games. Brad Marchand - Patrice Bergeron - David Pastrnak Ryan Spooner - David Krejci - David Backes Matt Beleskey - Austin Czarnik - Jimmy Hayes Jake DeBrusk - Tim Schaller - Tyler Randell Zdeno Chara - Colin Miller Torey Krug - Kevan Miller Christian Ehrhoff - Adam McQuaid Tuukka Rask Malcolm Subban Max Pacioretty - Alex Galchenyuk - Brendan Gallagher Artturi Lehkonen - Tomas Plekanec - Alexander Radulov Daniel Carr - David Desharnais - Andrew Shaw Phillip Danault - Michael McCarron - Brian Flynn Andrei Markov - Jeff Petry Nathan Beaulieu - Mikhail Sergachev Alexei Emelin - Zach Redmond Al Montoya Mike Condon Puck drop is at 7:00 on RDS (regional only). TSN 690 will have the call on the radio side.
  3. The Habs will look to make it two straight wins on the road tonight as they take on the Leafs in the first of two matchups this week. (Lines are guesses based on the roster.) Carr - Desharnais - Andrighetto Lehkonen - McCarron - Hudon Matteau - de la Rose - Scherbak Terry - Audette - Gregoire (Addison) Beaulieu - Pateryn Barberio - Petry Sergachev - Redmond Condon Lindgren van Riemsdyk - Bozak - Marner Hyman - Matthews - Nylander Michalek - Kadri - Komarov Martin - Gauthier - Brown Hunwick - Rielly Marincin - Zaitsev Valiev - Polak Enroth Sparks Puck drop is at 7:00 on RDS regionally and nationally on Sportsnet One. TSN 690 will have the call on the radio side.
  4. It's rematch time as the Habs will look to avenge Thursday's overtime loss to the Senators. They'll be in tough though as they're sending a pretty weak lineup into this one. It'll be the final look for a lot of players as a mass cut-down is expected to come this weekend. Matteau - McCarron - Hudon Danault - Mitchell - Byron Flynn - de la Rose - Scherbak Gregoire - Audette - Farnham Samuelsson - Johnston Alexandrov - Juulsen Parisi - Lernout Montoya Fucale Hoffman - Turris - Varone Puempel - Brassard - Ryan Pyatt - Pageau - Dzingel Kelly - Neil Chabot - Karlsson Phaneuf - Ceci Bartkowski - Kostka Claesson Hammond Driedger Puck drop is at 3:00 PM EST and can be seen on RDS (regional restrictions apply).
  5. After losing last night, the Habs will look to get their first win of the exhibition season as they host the Lars Eller-less Capitals. (Eller played last night so he's not with the team today.) (Lines unconfirmed, they're my guess based on the roster making the trip): Burakovsky - Johansson - Connolly Boyd - Beagle - Thomas Sanford - Vrana - Walker O'Brien - Mitchell - Sill Malenstyn Alzner - Bowey Chorney - Dietz Ness - Hobbs Djoos Vanecek MacIntyre Shaw - Flynn - Radulov Byron - Mitchell - Danault Matteau - McCarron - Hudon Gregoire - MacMillan - Friberg Beaulieu - Pateryn Parisi - Lernout Samuelsson - Johnston Montoya Fucale Puck drop is at 7:30 on RDS. TSN 690 will have the call.
  6. The Habs will look to make it two in a row in the preseason as they host the Sens tonight (with a much better lineup than they had against Washington): (Some lines confirmed, others are my guesses) Hoffman - Turris - Varone Paul - Brassard - Ryan Pyatt - Pageau - Dzingel Blunden - Kelly - Neil Bartkowski - Ceci Chabot - Wideman Claesson - Borowiecki Kostka Driedger (1st half) O'Connor (2nd half) Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Gallagher Lehkonen - Plekanec - Andrighetto Carr - Desharnais - Hudon* Terry - McCarron - Farnham Beaulieu - Pateryn Barberio - Sergachev Hanley - Redmond Condon Lindgren * - Reportedly will replace Andrew Shaw who has been suspended for three preseason games. Puck drop is at 7:30 PM EST and can be seen on RDS and TSN5 (regional restrictions apply).
  7. A very busy week for the Habs gets underway tonight as they play their first of five preseason games in the span of seven days. Up first are the Devils, who are sending a split squad team as they're also hosting Philadelphia tonight. (Lines unconfirmed but this is their roster for the game) Hall - Henrique - Smith-Pelly Blandisi - Fiddler - Thomson Pietila - McLeod - Bastian Sexton - Quenneville - Speers Merrill - Santini Moore - Mozik Auvitu - MacWilliam Jacobs Wedgewood Blackwood (Lines unconfirmed but this is their roster for the game) Lehkonen - Galchenyuk - Gallagher Carr - Desharnais - Andrighetto Terry - de la Rose - Farnham Audette - Eisenschmid - Scherbak Barberio - Petry Alexandrov - Redmond Hanley - Juulsen Condon Lindgren Puck drop is at 7:30 on RDS. TSN 690 will have the call.
  8. It has been a long two plus months since the since ended but tonight, the Habs will finally get to reap the benefits of their struggles as they make the 9th overall pick in the draft. (Unless they trade it, of course.) Montreal holds the following picks over the next two days: 9th Overall 39th Overall 45th Overall 70th Overall 100th Overall 124th Overall 160th Overall We'll use this thread to discuss the picks that are made (by the Habs and otherwise); any trades by Montreal will get their own thread of course. The fun gets underway at 7 PM EST tonight, Sportsnet, TVA Sports, and NBCSN have the coverage. Day two kicks off at 10 AM EST. Sportsnet has coverage there (not sure about elsewhere).
  9. The 2016 NHL Draft Lottery is upon us and will go Saturday night at 7 PM EST on CBC. The Habs head into the lottery currently holding the 9th pick. They can move as high as 1st and as low as 12th. Full odds of picking at each position is as follows: If you're curious as to which ping pong ball combinations the Habs have, click here. The simulator now lets you play out the ping pong ball selections if you want to waste some time waiting for 7 PM. In the meantime, clutch your lucky charms and eat your lucky meals (or a bowl of Lucky Charms)...if you're superstitious, that is.
  10. It's the end of the line for the IceCaps (31-32-8-3) as their season comes to a close with a two game series against the Rangers' affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack (40-31-3-0). The Pack have an outside shot at a playoff still so St. John's should be facing a desperate team. (Based on previous +/- data.) Tambellini - Nehring - Megna Oleksuk - Hrivik - Jensen Tarnasky - Adam - T. Brown Paille - Nieves - C. Brown Andersson - Summers Graves - Diaz Hughes - Bodie Skapski Hudon - McCarron- Scherbak Friberg - de la Rose - Dumont Addison - Audette - Holloway Bozon - MacMillan - Gregoire Hanley - Dietz Johnston - Ellis Bourque - Didier Fucale Puck drop is at 6:00 PM EST for each game, AM 930 has the call.

  14. Well, here is last week with 6 points up for grabs vs Panthers-Hurricanes-Lightning to finish off season. Arizona & Buffalo are 1 point behind Habs in the standings, so if all goes well and John Scott is given a top six role, we can kinda hope for zero points in the three games. But at least hope are entertaining high scoring games and maybe Galchenyuk and/or Pacioretty can get to 30g and Gallagher gets to 20. (just don't do as Canucks have done and go on late winning streak.)

  24. The IceCaps (28-25-8-3) are in Syracuse this weekend for a pair of games against the Crunch (25-25-10-3). 25. It was announced yesterday that P.K. Subban won't play this upcoming weekend. So while many fans are disappointed that they won't be able to see the Subbanator in action, they'll get to see the next best thing tonight against the Sens: The Scrivenator. Now, you may think that there are no similarities between the two that would allow Scrivens to be granted the usage of the suffix 'ator' but you would be wrong. Just think, when the puck is on Subban's stick, does your heart start to pump slightly harder in anticipation of what's about to happen? Then think of Scrivens. When the puck is on his stick, your heart probably starts to pump harder as well...out of fear of what's about to happen but it beats harder all the same. Tune in tonight at 7 PM on Sportsnet and TVA Sports for plenty of heart-pumping action...or to see Scott Gomez play one more time, whatever works for you.
