  1. This is a very important weekend for the Bulldogs (16-17-6-0). They begin a 2-in-2 set against Grand Rapids (19-13-3-1) who sit four points and four spots ahead of Hamilton in the standings. If they want to make up some ground, this would be a good time to do so and with their goalie tandem in Detroit, it's a good time to face them. Jarred Tinordi skated in the morning and will play tonight. (based on +/- data from previous games) Callahan - Miele - Mantha Tvrdon - Nosek - Ferraro Porter - Aubry - Hoggan Bruton - Zengerle - Hirschfeld Paetsch - Sproul Marchenko - Czarnowczan Jensen - Evans Coreau Carr - Hensick - Andrighetto de la Rose - Hudon - Dumont Bowman - Macenauer - Sorkin Nevins - Dowell - Fournier Tinordi - Drewiske Allen - Pateryn Bennett - Dietz MacDonald Puck drop is at 7:30 PM, AM900 will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  2. Hamilton (15-14-6-0) will look to get back in the win column tonight but they'll be in tough as they host Utica (22-7-5-0) who sits 2nd in the West. Jacob de la Rose will return for Hamilton while it's unknown if Gabriel Dumont will be back with the team. (based on +/- data from previous games) Shinkaruk - Acton - Friesen Kenins - O'Reilly - Grenier Archibald - Jeffrey - DeFazio Zalewski - Gaunce - Hamilton Corrado - Negrin Biega - Andersson Ehrhardt - Huskins Ericsson Bowman - Hudon - Hensick Carr - de la Rose - Dumont Nevins - Dowell - Sorkin Crisp - Macenauer - Bakker Allen - Drewiske Bennett - Pateryn Tinordi - Dietz Condon Puck drop is at 7:30 PM, AM900 will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  3. The Bulldogs (16-16-6-0) kick off the second half of their season by trying to enact some revenge on Milwaukee (19-12-2-3) who beat Hamilton pretty soundly last week. 5. It's an afternoon affair for the Bulldogs (16-15-6-0) today as they host league-leading Oklahoma City (25-8-2-2) as they try to make it a winning weekend. Both teams are playing their 3rd game in as many days. (based on +/- data from previous games) R. Hamilton - Williams - Ford Pakarinen - Yakimov - Miller C. Hamilton - Khaira - Winquist C. 6. Hamilton (16-14-6-0) will look to make it two wins in two nights tonight as they host Lake Erie (14-15-2-3). 8. Tonight, the Bulldogs (15-13-6-0) will look to end their road trip on a winning note as they take on the Admirals of the Milwaukee variety (15-12-2-3). It's a battle of the 8 and 9 seeds in the West. Tangradi is questionable due to the flu. 10. The Bulldogs (15-13-5-0) are hoping to start the New Year off the right way as they continue their American road trip (try to pick a hole in that one, Mike ) by travelling to Chicago to take on the Wolves (17-12-4-0). Connor Crisp is eligible to return from his suspension. My guess is that he'll replace Bakker unless Dumont still isn't with the team. 12. Saku Talk: Tonight, the Montreal Canadiens pay tribute to the small Finn who held a lantern during a dark time in the history of the Montreal Canadiens. Drafted after the last time this proud organization lifted up the Stanley Cup, Saku Koivu still embodies both the spirit and stereotypes of the modern Habs. Small, skilled, smart and relentless, Saku watched this team win games they never should have and led them through criticism and controversy. Players tried to take the captaincy from him, several members of the media criticized his place and he was never offered a new contract when his final deal with the Canadiens expired. But Saku lives in the hearts of everyone, from those who saw him as in a rock between a hard place and those who never grew up with the memories of the 24th Stanley Cup. The last time a Hab led the league in scoring, even if it was a small sample size was Saku. While he doesn't deserve to see #11 retired or see his name in the Hall of Fame, Saku still deserves this tribute tonight for his contributions to the Montreal Canadiens in 14 seasons. With no captain on the roster, it only makes sense to pay tribute to the Finnish captain who wore the C as long as Beliveau. Game Talk: Rene Bourque returns to Montreal on the top line of Anaheim, a place he doesn't exactly deserve and Ducks fans are split about. The top team in the league currently, Anaheim has been dealing with injuries and sickness and lost poorly to the Leafs 6-2, which snapped a seven game winning streak. Emerson Etem was recalled from Norfolk. Montreal is their fourth stop on a five game road trip. Meanwhile, the Montreal Canadiens are on a three game winning streak which seems to deserve zero credit to the coach and is purely the team fighting an uphill battle against a tyrannical coach. Habs have outscored their opponents 13-4 in the past three games. Andrighetto was sent down to the AHL with Eller close to return. Price has started the past seven games. No word on which goalie will be playing tonight but Tokarski was sporting a white goalie mask without design. Likely Price. 21. There's only so much time we can spend blathering on about David Desharnais and Michel Therrien before we have an actual hockey game to discuss. Three day break is too long. This is a winnable game. The Carolina Hurricanes are the worst team in the east on a five game losing streak. They have allowed as many goals as the Habs have scored. They are 3-11-2 on the road. The Atlantic is getting tight (Detroit and Tampa have 41 points, Habs have 40, Leafs have 39). No sleepy first periods. 23. Long long ago, like in November, Montreal wasn't doing too well. They just got blanked by the Blackhawks 5-0. It wasn't looking good. Everyone was commenting on how this team was a bunch of pretenders. But then I did a GDT and the team just started winning again! It went for like a really long time too.
