Yeah, imagine our two PP duos of Souray-Markov and Hammer-Streit.

Markov-Komi

Souray-Streit

Cube-Hammer

Dandenault

(still not sure which side Roman plays)

are you serious, you put hammer on the 3rd pairing, after streit??

Man 3 million per year is really an incredible deal.

Well i read on the TSN.ca profile that Hammer makes some awkward decisions and moves with the puck at times, basically what Shelly does, but i guess its interchangeable. Dont you think that a Cube-Streit pairing would get completely owned down low?

Love the move by Gainey to bring in a solid experienced Defenceman.

With all the different figures floating around I might end up not as impressed as I once was.

What do you mean by a games played clause? What's his story?

He is injured A LOT.

He only played 8 games last year.

Hamrlik was a plus 22 last year..Souray will never be a plus 22, on any team, so, hammer will be on the second pairing, with, well, we don't really know at this point, depends on any future moves Bob may make. I'll bet he picks up another d, maybe through trade (maybe give Ninnema another chance? I don't think he was half bad when given a chance last year). We may or may not see another center.

At 1st I was bummed when I heard Bob signed Hamrlik. But if the numbers stated here are correct, this could be a great signing. :hlogo:

The only thing that scares me is Hamrlik will be 37 when this contract is up. 4 years is kinda a long time for a player that is 33. However if its really at 3 mil/yr then even buying him out of the last year wont be too pricey, so I guess its worth the gamble.

I think alot of the teams are insane signing older guys to crazy long term deals for large coinage. Not everybody is the next Chellios.

Hamrlik played 51 games 2 years ago, other than that he has been quite consitent missing around 10 games a year... not that bad, Souray was injured more.

RDS is saying Soury rejected a 5.5 offer for 4 years

he's not getting that kind of money anywhere now.

Hamrlik was really only injured a lot a couple years ago.

He has played 75, (51), 81, 73 games the last 4 NHL seasons.

Souray on the other hand.

81, 75, 63, 34, 52, 19 ...that is a lot of games missed. His shoulder and wrist are constantly subject to injury.
