Peter Puck Posted March 24, 2008 Share Posted March 24, 2008 (edited) On the front page it says our magic number to clinch first over the Sens is 8 points, i.e., any combination of Habs points gained plus Sens points lost totalling 8 points guarantees us 1st in the division. The true value is 10 points. The Sens have 89 points and 7 games left. If they win them all they will finish with 103 points and thus we need to get to 104 to be sure of beating them. We're at 94 now with 6 games left. if we get only 8 more points we will finish with 102 . Thus we need a combination totalling 10 points to be sure of beating the Sens.
