Spider-Man NL
This got to be the worst one yet. Here is the article that goes with the pics: http://filmforce.ign.com/batman/articles/5...1/531521p1.html Batmobile Spy Pics New images of Batman's ride. July 19, 2004 - Want another look at the freaky-looking Batmobile in Batman Begins? IGN FilmForce has obtained a series of "spy pics" of Batman's new ride that were apparently taken while preparations were being made for a promotional photo shoot for a major retailer. You can view a couple of the images below and click them to view larger versions and eight additional pics. The new Batmobile, which began life as a Wayne Industries military prototype called The Tumbler, is 2.5 tons, 15 feet long, and has a 350-cubic-inch Chevy engine capable of 500 horsepower. It is equipped with front-firing machine guns, a landing hook and, as you can see, 4 rear super swamper tires. The Caped Crusader's vehicle is also taking a page from Knight Rider's KITT. Batman Begins producer Charles Roven told the NY Daily News that the car can turbo boost. "It has to get up to 220 mph to get airborne, but then it can jump 20, 30, maybe 40 feet," Roven said. To perform this gravity-defying act, the Batmobile utilizes its jet engine and vector controls. In other Bat-news, fans should be aware of a Batman Begins panel that will take place at Comic-Con International on Friday, July 23 (from 12:30-2:00). Scheduled guests include screenwriter David Goyer and actor Cillian Murphy, who plays Dr. Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow in the film. Sources tell IGN FilmForce that the Batman Begins trailer will most likely be attached to Fox's Alien vs. Predator when it releases on August 13. TheAussiePosse
Nope, it's serious. Think about it, it's a prequel to all the other Batman movies - if they made an awesome Batmobile, it would seem to get worse as it progressed through the ages. They had to choose something that is tacky and cheap(-er) than the later models. Another example is the Star Wars series. The most recent movies have had robot warriors, spaceships and metal-body-part-replacements, similar to the original series. But since the original series came 2nd to the current series, they couldn't make the current series technically superior - it just doesn't fit in. So the droids become easily-destroyable (compared to the Storm Troopers), the spaceships look ancient compared to the X-Wings and TIE Fighters, and the hand replacement for Annakin (sp?) is metal, compared to Luke Skywalker's hand replacement after his duel with Darth Vader. And no, I'm not a Star Wars fanatic, I've just seen them enough times to know
Fanpuck33_
I see your point, but this thing looks ridiculous. If they wanted something to look inferior to the others, why not soup -up some 70's Ford or something like that?
bombTHEice
Guys don't you think that car will be "re-designed" with the computer?? I think it's simply a model and it will be digitized with computers.

Sure, if the computers completely remove any trace of that car... and insert a completely digitized car in it's place, then no problem!
