Peter Puck
Okay, we're 1/4 of the way through. The Habs have 26 points after 20 games and are on a pace to finish with 106.6 points. Macaskill is in the lead having predicted the 26 exactly. geolink did this also but he waited until after the first game of the season for his prediction so he is in second. Feel free to revise your predictions. Send in new predictions before tomorrow's game starts (or you may suffer the same shame as geolink). Here are the standings. Listed are predictions for the end of the season and for at the end of each quarter. (Really after 20 games, after 41 games, after 61 games and after 82 games). Posters with only one number after their name only predicted for the end of the season. 1. Macaskill 107 26 2. geolink 108 26 3. JMMR 101 27 53 77 101 3. Peter Puck 106 27 3. Wamsley01 103 27 3. Peter Puck
I'm predicting the Habs score 29 points in the next 21 games between tomorrow (game 21 at Detroit) and Saturday Jan 10 (game 41 vs Washington) . No more bad luck.

Wamsley01
27 was pretty good by me. Yep, considering they would have had 27 had O'Byrne not shot the puck in his own net. The funny thing is, the majority of people are around 26-29 points and 106-110 points on the season yet there was a full scale panic on here for weeks. They are meeting everyone's preseason expectations, so what was the panic about? Edited November 28, 2008 by Wamsley01

Fanpuck33
On pace for 112 point season. Very impressive given the injuries and the stretches of poor play. Thankfully, even when we've hit rough stretches, they haven't resulted in long losing streaks. Only once this season has the team gone three games without a point. BTH
Damn, missed by 1 point... Can't believe you predicted we'd start off the season 19-1 and then you call the 14-7 record at the end the big finish.

saskhab
I thought we'd struggle a bit in the second quarter, but although there was a rough patch in the first half, nothing nearly as bad as I thought.
Habsfan
I must admit that with 56 points in 41 games, the Habs are doing better than I Predicted ( i had predicted 50 points in 41 games). The most impressive thing is that they are playing well with alot of Key injuries! I just hope that once the regulars start coming back, they will continue to play good hockey(like they've been doing this week!)
Peter Puck
The season's half over. The Habs have 56 points after 41 games and are on a pace to finish with 112 points. ch_nl and Jean are in the lead. Send in prediction for the third quarter of the season before Tuesday's game starts. I am amazed at how accurate the vast majority of predictions have been. Here are the standings. 1. ch_nl 111 1.07 0.50 1.57 1. Jean 111 1.07 0.50 1.57 3. geolink 108 26 0 2.00 2 3. Peter Puck 106 27 55 1 1 2 3. johhnyhasbeen 126 28 56 2 0 2 6. Dutch Habs Fan 98 21 38 66 98 5 18 23 For those who care, here is how I computed the score. I added the error in the quarter pole prediction to the error in the halfway prediction. For example, JoeLassiter predicted 28 points after 20 games and 55 points for halfway. Since we had 26 points after 20 games his first error was 2 points. His halfway prediction was off by one point and so his total score is an error of 3 points. For people who didn't make predictions for the quarter pole or for halfway, I just extrapolated their season ending prediction into intermediate predictions. Thus ch_nl and Jean predicted a finish of 111 points which corresponds to a halfway prediction of 55.5 points and a quarter pole prediction of 27.07 points. Thus I scored their halfway error as 0.5 points and their quarter pole error as 1.07 points for a total error of 1.57 points. The last 3 numbers after a poster's name are his quarter pole error, his halfway error, and his total error. Habsfan
OK, So I'll modify my prediction for 61 games into the season. I had originally predictied 78 points after 61 games, i will now change that to 80 points. However, I still think they will finish the season with 107 points!
