Athlétique.Canadien
Anyone have any suggestions?
KoZed
2-on-1, no chance for Halak
brobin
I love the way they are pressing to get back in by spending the entire game in their own end.... and there is number 4 on another odd man rush... embarrassing... one thing i noticed is that the forwards never cover for the D when they pinch... ForumGhost
Anyways, I'm going to watch the rest in the living room. Before I go, I would just like to point out that we are still missing Latendresse, Pleks, Tanguay and Lang, so that's a major chunk of our offense gone right there. Just something to keep in mind because I know how this thread is going to look tomorrow morning...
Athlétique.Canadien
3:12 mins per each goal required! Too bad it's too much
Sir_Boagalott
I am a great manager.. but I learned years ago that while I have mentored many great managers, I can't teach it to a moron... some things require natural talent, and learning... Try teaching Kovy to backcheck for instance.. good luck. I'm just talking aboot the principal though. It'd be like a manger that doesnt know to relegate tasks or an accountant that doesnt understand how to subtract. Sure one might suck at subtraction but they at least know when you subtract its the differenc of the 2 numbers.
tokyohabs
two guys dig down low, rarely someone cutting to the net. kovy nearly invisible, is Koivu benched? Serious question. pacioretty, d'agostini, lapierre look good. higgins alright, no end result as usual.

tokyohabs
where are our playmakers? this team begs for players to take the game by the scruff of the neck, some skill and vision. each line takes a shift on, a shift off.
KoZed
At least the Pac-Lap-Dag line has played great. The KO line might have had the lone goal, but boy have they been useless. Markov is completely out of it. Dont know what happened to all our All-Star guys. They've sucked since then.
Natural Mystic
thanks coach, put the brothers together with 3 minutes left in the game.
sbhatt
A.Kost gets one to make the score a look a little less embarassing at least.

But all 3 have their head so far up their respective asses they can't see anything...
Sir_Boagalott
Nice, but why cant lil AK do that on a PP?

KoZed
Why does Kostopoulos looks like he's the offensive wizard of his line?
KoZed
This team has no go-to offensive guys. Plain and simple. Koivu & Kovy are washed up. Useless.
Natural Mystic
This is good therapy. I actually don't care about them loosing. I can actually watch them loose instead of just getting upset and turning off the channel. Good hustle by the Laps line. Halak played well too. sbhatt
Why does Kostopoulos looks like he's the offensive wizard of his line? His legs move at a high rate of speed...he pursues the puck with enough determination that he often comes up with it...he goes to the net. You know, good fundamental hockey...something Koivu and Kovalev don't bother with very often this season.
tokyohabs
Too little too late for the effort. Lifeless, for the most part. Kovalev looks alone, skating practice. Kostopolous tries but it is a gross mismatch in talent on the line. Koivu, who dat? Higgins, as usual good strong effort, no results. Dandy, same, mediocre, at least he tries...(cringe). More than can be said for some invisible players. Hamr and Markov, if the breakaway bomb pass isn't there they don't seem interested. And they try it anyways. There is a real lack of movement on the team. Young guys hustling down low, but nothing coming in, no-one flying around, no-one looking especially dangerous. Very, very hard to reconcile this team with the team pre-all star, full of skating and movement. And of course confidence. I kept waiting for them to wake up and realise that they were losing, that they had to do something about it.
Athlétique.Canadien
The only good news is that we delivered strategically far better in minutes over a whole game than in the past. There were flashes of sustained offensive pressure. It's so basic what is wrong. This room needs to really get angry or something. You can take it to the bank that we are not trading Andrei Kostitsyn. It's clear (IMO) that he has no t peaked. Get it together Habs. Sh/+ or get off the pot. You know, good fundamental hockey...something Koivu and Kovalev don't bother with very often this season. I dont know. I see Koivu got to the net often... problem is: it's not his place. He doesnt even try to carry the puck and set up goals anymore. Kovy & Kosto do all the work around the boards and in the corners (and before them Dago, MaxPac, Higgins, etc.) Saku just hangs around in the slot. What, is he a sniper now? Yes, I rag on Saku alot... I just can't stand watching him anymore. He's nothing but a 4th line & special units specialist now. Can't wait for Tangs to come back so we can have a real 1st line playmaker on this team.
Sir_Boagalott
Kosto looks like a wizards because he is willing to go into the corner to get the puck and pass to the guy doing nothing who is open even though Kosto knows he will be body checked Kosto will do it anyway. The number of Euros in the NHL that are willing to take a hit to make a play isnt very high. Number of Euros on the Habs: high. Its a physical game and you need to be tough and the majority of Euros are finess over braun style players. When Euros are off their game they are usually invisable. Wen North Americans are off their game they are usually at least hitting. I'm starting to strongly beleive that it is Carbos fault. There seems to be many semi basic problems with the team to blame it on the entire team. The Habs team has got better and better over the recent years and I have no doubt that if this team was the Julien or Therriens Habs they would be in 1st. Yet both of their lesser talented Habs teams went farther than the more talented Carbos team. Did you see lil AK's rocket 1 timer goal? Why cant he do that on a PP? Seriously when you watch him on the PP in the spot its like he's never done it before. That leads me to wondering: what the hell does Carbo have them doing when are they practicing? It sure doesnt look like lil AK has been practicing 1 timers when on the PP. Every time somebody sends him a 1 timer setup he just recieves a pass. Its so frustrating because he's got such a great 1 timer and it doesnt take this many games to figure out to do a 1 timer when passed the puck at the point on a PP. Well unless you never practice it.
