alexstream
Spacek is not bad Plus, he is a PP specialist Gomez + Gionta, speed, work ethic, professional hockey players (i.e. Not party animals) They fired last team's edition of the Habs because it was a major failure. look throughout the league for a success story : Detroit NJ ... what else? guys out of Detroit available were... Marian Hossa and Tomas Kopecky. guys out of NJ were Gomez and Gionta. You want to implement a new system, a new team spirit, a new team identity, this is a VERY good choice. More than Patrick Marleau. remember? Marleau had problems with his coach. What you want first and foremost, right here, right now, is COACHABLE PLAYERS. what best than a two of the main players out of winning edition of the NJ DEVILS? Nesquik
Why on Earth did we not get rid of the Kosty vagrants? Yeah. I really enjoy the new team but I would of liked to see the Kostitsyn go away.
alexstream
Why on Earth did we not get rid of the Kosty vagrants? We got rid of the leadership, since it failed at implementing a team identity, a team spirit, some discipline, some cohesion, etc. They identified that only Komi and Kovalev (!) were worthy to get a call back. HOWEVER they kept all the "moldable" parts. Kost, Plek, etc, have to get TAUGHT how to play like PROFESSIONAL hockey players. I don't mind if they learn it here. Ribs learned it in Dallas and it dearly costed us. I'm 200% certain that, had we made such a roster bolster when we had Ribs, Ribs would have evolved into the super saiyan he is now WITH US. Koivu was a no factor in the locker room. He had his little clique and was working hard, but he was not a "rassembleur", a "tutor" or anything we wanted him to be. Kovalev was like that a bit with the Russian... but maybe not enough. Higgins was apparently taking everyone out to party? (that's the new rumour, that higgins was the party animal) The guys we got are all in the same mold. Irreproachable as far as "professional" life is concerned. Pat Burns had only good things to say about Gomez, as a person. Serious guy, would NEVER have trouble around him, etc. I think Pleks and Kost will just learn from playing with those guys and "holding out" with those guys. I think we might actually have a TEAM instead of a group of cliques.
saskhab
Yeah. I really enjoy the new team but I would of liked to see the Kostitsyn go away. The Kostitsyns can be saved. They're young. They've been taught some harsh lessons in the past 12 months. Let's see if they've learned anything from them. They aren't obscenely overpaid yet. Koivu11
Btw i don't know if anyone knows yet, but RDS has Cammalleri wearing 13 like last year, and Gomez wearing 91. Just a heads up http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/277909.html
rafikz
Some fun highlights: - Landsberg asked him a complicated question in French, and Mike replied: " umm....merci beaucoup " - Kevin Bieksa was on the show too; I don't remember how it came up in the conversation, but he said: " I'm 7 inches too tall to play with Montreal "
Habsfan
The last question awked by Landsberg to Cammalleri was: "how long will it take for the montreal media to snap pictures of you exiting a nightclub?" And he said never!! Poor guy, he has no idea what he's getting himself into!!! It's so cute! He's soooo naive!!
The Saint
The last question awked by Landsberg to Cammalleri was: "how long will it take for the montreal media to snap pictures of you exiting a nightclub?" And he said never!! Poor guy, he has no idea what he's getting himself into!!! It's so cute! He's soooo naive!! Maybe not - but there was also some other context to the question. The question before was "how long into the season before Montreal media and fans declare you a Free Agent bust" - to which he also, and confidently I might add said "never". I know talk is cheap and he is just saying the right things but I sense that this guy is a winner. Edited July 7, 2009 by The Saint

I know he was joiking around, and so was I. I must admit that this guy seems to have a very good attitude. Hope it rubs off on the Kostitsyn brothers! I think what Camms is trying to say is NOT that he isn't going to get caught, but more importantly that he will not be out clubbing. He'll be focused on hockey. Something this team lacked last year...

He'll be focused on hockey. Something this team lacked last year... They all say that, but this city has a tendancy of crrupting good intentions!!! Trust me, he'll go out clubbing with the other guys, I just hope they won't do it as often as last year!
