Habsfan84
According to Danny Dube, and Michel Villeneuve is that Gainey is trying to get Bernier from San jose, they did not mention who may be going the other way but they are looking for a veteran going there. .... Maybe Breezy????
Chris
No way it's brisby. They are looking for a good D. Possibly Streit if he can be sigend. Markov, Hamrlik and Komi I beleive are untouchable.

BTH
Hossa or any other good winger (Stillman would have been good) are just what we need. It would solidify our position as one of the top teams in the league. I don't think we are really a serious contender for the Cup this year but we are definitely one of the few teams with a realistic shot. Getting that winger will go a long way. Other than that, I could just see Dandy for a defensive, faceoff specialist.
Chris
I do know for sure the Sharks are looking for an offensive Dman. The Gm said so on the pre game for last nights game. Carle and Bernier as trade bait
kenadian
Hamrlik ...... I beleive are untouchable. With his "virus" I wouldn't want to touch him either.....................
Athlétique.Canadien
RDS-Boyle has the Habs as one of his preferred UFA destinations. Imagine our D? It would be sick to have a top 4 of Komisarek - Markov - Hamrlik and Boyle.
Chris
Relax, let the youth play and improve. You still O'byrne, Gorges Emelin who are all RD i beleive.
BTH
That's awesome! ... but I'm sure Feaster will try very hard to lock him up long-term. Speaking of Tampa, I was just looking around to see who the Habs might want and I think Chris Gratton could be a good choice. A 6'4, grinder who's good on faceoffs and plays on a team that has no chance at the playoffs (they'll be selling). He's also going to be a UFA after the season which makes him a likely trade target. We got a taste of him last night when he beat us in all the big faceoffs as we tried to get that third goal late in the game.

MFT77
Gratton would be a solid pickup for the playoff run. Would definitely add some grit. Boyle could be useful too. Give up Ryder and mabye a 4th rounder. Just a thought.
Wamsley01
Remember that they're in the weakest division. They are farther away from 8th place than they are from 3rd. It makes so much sense doesn't it. Let's have an unbalanced schedule so that teams like Detroit play their own division 8 times and Montreal has to play Boston, Ottawa and Buffalo 8 times. Then let's line them up by most points even though they are all playing different teams, and then we will award a team that may finish in 9th place not with an automatic playoff berth, but also with home ice advantage and a number 3 seed. Wow, Gary Bettman, Genius
Habsfan
Gratton might not be a bad pick up at centre. He's big, he is decent in the face-off department. You never know!

MFT77
I'd take him over Smoke any day. Without a doubt. Gratton brings just as much scoring potential, plus a ton more grit. He looks like he still belongs in the games, whereas Smokes playing days seem to be numbered as he is slow and old.

He's not responsible for all of our troubles, but he's certainly not helping.

The Chicoutimi Cucumber
I doubt Boyle will end up a Habs, but assuming this story to be accurate it confirms one thing - namely, that once a team starts acquiring a rep as a 'winning environment' all of a sudden BS like the media and the tax rates become secondary considerations. The best thing about this season - ASSUMING they're not in the process of blowing it by going in the tank - is that we're getting a reputation as an up and coming, powerful franchise. The UFAs will follow.
Neech
It would be sweet to have Boyle on this team, but that would be a lot of money locked up in our D. Although Streit is good on our powerplay, and I don't know exactly what we'd do to replace him if he left this year, Bernier would be a great addition. Him and Gui would be the clobbering Québecois! Habitforming
How about Ryder for Prospal. Ryder will likely resign there and Prospal has paved his way out of Tampa with his mouth. At least Prospal would score for us.
markierung
it will enver happen. Prospal is much more productive, a veteran, and has won a cup.
Neech
Yeah, some people don't seem to understand that Ryder by himself is currently not worth anything of value.
JMMR
Yeah, some people don't seem to understand that Ryder by himself is currently not worth anything of value. If the Habs deal him they will get a 2nd or 3rd rounder. He is a worthy rental.
Psycing
Habs got a 3rd for Zednik, so I wouldn't expect too much more for Ryder seeing as he's a UFA. Ryder has a little more upside than Zed, so methinks a 2nd round pick isn't too far fetched. The draft looks to be a good one and Ryder hasn't played many of the Habs' most recent games, so I wouldn't be surprised if he were moved for a pick if the Habs bring in another spare body elsewhere. (Gainey trades Zednik for a 3rd followed by a 4th for Mike Johnson <- Something along those lines)
