With his release and shots on that Hat trick Ikonen had this summer and moving to a lesser league, I had hoped to hear Ikonen would have consistent and solid production. Really early of course but hope he can start burying a few.

You don't hold any real hope for Pezzetta do you? other than maybe AHLer eh?

To be fair, the SM-liiga isn't exactly a low-level league - it's Finland's top league.  It's still a much higher level of competition than the Swedish J18 and J20 levels he was at last season.

I didn't mind the Pezzetta pick last year as I thought his offence would come around but he had a terrible year instead.  His physical prowess is something the Habs don't have much of in the system so maybe that gets him a look but no, I don't have high hopes at this point.  I think he needs to get to that point-per-game mark to have any sort of shot at being signed.

Sure, I kinda meant he opted for a lesser league than trying to crack Frolunda's roster.

It's worth noting he was on the second line wing, not at centre.

Josh Brook's season won't be starting anytime soon as he has undergone wrist surgery and is expected to be out 8-12 weeks.

Meanwhile, Cale Fleury's season isn't off to a great start as he was suspended for three games the other day.

That's in SM-liiga play.  He has a couple of assists in three Champions League games as well.

Also might make Lindgren more expendable as part of some trade package?

This seems to be a growing trend for the Habs, non-local prospects who wind up staying in Montreal for the summer (Scherbak, McCarron, and McNiven come to mind as others who have done so lately).
