Can we sign a player in the middle of their NCAA season and bring them to the AHL? Asking for a friend Bergevin.

If the player agrees.... yes.

It rarely happens though.  Most players finish the season that they start, but there have been some who have left early.

I have a feeling that Caufield will never see the AHL though. I think he'll be joining Montreal at the end of his Wisconsin season and will help the Habs in the 2020 playoffs.
