But if we ice that d-corps over any sustained stretch of time, we lose a lot more than we win; and I assure you that the fans will take those losses as absolute proof of the thorough mediocrity of the organization and JM's blithering incompetence. In other words, nobody is going to be philosophical about the results. tonight and tomorrow are as good as time as any to let the rookies play and play a lot, considering how bad the Canes and Isles are. It's one thing to discuss the injuries but don't overlook that a couple of the players in the lineup are playing through some things. It's safe to assume Plekanec is one of those guys. The ice time was more balanced in the 2nd which is nice to see. Gorges 'only' played just over 7 minutes and even St. Denis got regular minutes (and aside from one moment where he froze one-on-one in the defensive zone, he's looked pretty good). Gomez is having a strong game (faceoffs aside), he is really aggressive out there. He has 6 shot attempts (4 on goal) in less than 9 minutes plus a couple of hits.
