Kaboom
On the point kaberle and weber if he is in the lineup. DD cole A.k Second unit P.K campoli pleks patches and cammy. This would give us a shooter on the point on each unit and a in front of the net man. Tell me what you would do and why?
Commandant
Pk. Kaberle cammy pleks kostitsyn Kaberle the passer with a one timer option on either side of him. Pleks as making passes down low where he excels. Kostitsyn working in front of the net where he's been on some very successful PPs the last four seasons. ATM stays together, a line with known chemistry. 2nd unit Diaz campoli patches DD cole Diaz and Campoli can handle the unit. Trade/scratch weber, not good enough defensively to be in the lineup. Patches and DD have huge chemistry going back to Hamilton and their line with cole has worked well all season.

TurdBurglar
Cole-Plek-Cammy Subban-Kaberle and Patches-Eller-Ak46 Weber-Campoli Got great one-timers on each side of the ice for Kaberle/Campoli to setup in Subban/Weber and Cammy/Ak46, big body in front of the net Cole/Patches, good down low passer in Plek and good down low stick work from Eller. Also with this setup Kaberle/Campoli has 2 options for one-timers or the puck can be fed to the other d-man so Subban/Weber will have 2 options for one-timers, you can put the center down low on the left side. This creates another option for the weaker passing d-men ins Subban/Weber, if they feel too pressured. This would have to be setup as umbrella, except the center isn't playing in from of the net as a traditional umbrella is setup. Think of it as a diamond with the center in the corner. If the puck comes to the center and he is pressures, he can send it back to the defenseman or dump it around the boards to the winger near the opposite circle. Ah to dream, in reality Martin will throw the center in the middle fo the ice to stand there looking stupid and being useless. Which might work if the defense would pinch on the PP, but can't run a good PP thinking defense first. Prime Minister Koivu
As long as Darche isn't out there, it's all good Boo! I came here to post that no matter who else is on the PP unit we MUST have Darche out there at all times!

Kaboom
Well watching last night i say try the two and a haft men line kaberle and A.K on the point. thats three scores and to dishers but A.K has to shoot. Pleks did ok back there so A.K shouldn't be any worse plus he has a gun maybe he will use it.
Chris
based on last night i would go with Kaberle Emelin Leblanc Eller Nokekinen What's the worst that could happen, they could go 1 for 9?
Kaboom
I can't argue that!
Commandant
AK on the point? I don't think thats a good idea. If we complained about the short handed chances when pleks was back there, whats gonna happen when AK is back there? I think it might get ugly. Kaboom
I say it is worth the gamble. we are going to lose by a goal anyways why not make it a short handed one if it doesn't work. lmao
BTH
I want Kaberle and Emelin on the points, Plekanec and Cole along the boards, and Subban in front of the net (imagine how many penalties he would draw!)
JMMR
I want the power play to keep scoring at least 1 goal per game. If they continue to score one or average 1 per game for the rest of the year that will bode well.

If they continue to score one or average 1 per game for the rest of the year that will bode well. Agreed... for now I'd leave the units as is. Maybe the only thing I'd change would be that the DD line would play with Kaberle on the first unit... but no need for major changes. Yes they were 1 for 9, but they also had a ton of chances. If the PP produces chances, they'll score goals. The problem with the PP before we got Kaberle is that it didn't consistently produce good chances. Easy Ryder
In that system, the shooters are the problem. Subban and Cammelleri for instance. Subban takes way too long to deliver, a high swing and shoots too high. Cammelleri is 10 feet too far and doesn't change position, the goalie knows exactly where the shot will come from. What would be a solution is what Kaberle is trying to do righ now. Install himself right in the middle and further in the zone, one player as to cover him, meanwhile players must play hard near the goaltender. Look for rebound and PK can rush in and surprise the defense with his fast skating. Forwards except Cammelleri will take the hits to go where it pays, this is the only way to score when overwhelming talent is not there. Colin
Just a thought, but how about split Patches and Cole up, one on each unit, with the command, "Be in the goalie's face and clean up the messes." Isn't that what PF's are supposed to do? Isn't that how a majority of the goals in the NHL are created? Guys crashing the net, making it tough to play? No need to split them up when they work so well together, and Kostitsyn does this job on the other line. Kostitsyn is really under appreciated for the role he's played on our PP all the way back to when it was Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Kovalev. Kosty is always jamming the net on the PP and retrieving loose pucks behind the net and in the corners. And our PP has been very successful over the years with him in that role. hab29RETIRED
Agreed. Now that Martin is gone, I hope AK46 will get more PP time and hopefully Cammy will get things going and play with a bit more passion and actually show some fiestiness and willingness to battle for passesion. RobRock
Considering that most of the offence is coming from Pacioretty-Desharnais-Cole, they should be the first unit. Cole standing in front can screen or make deflections, Desharnais has a great quick release and Pacioretty has a heavy accurate shot. Next, Kaberle is 99.999% going to pass, so why not use that as an advantage? Play him on the weak side and have him available to jump in for a pass through the box or a rebound? Put Kaberle on the point with Subban on one side and Pacioretty at the faceoff circle on the other, with Desharnais on the other dot and Cole screening in front. Pacioretty moves into the box at times, draws a d-man with him and opens up a lane for Kaberle on the blind side. Markov did it all the time. Willey101
I say we gotta play Darche more. Almost 20 minutes of ice time Saturday was not enough for a guy of his skill set.

Willey101
Darche 5 on 5, Darche on the PK and Darche on the PP. It's the key to success.
