Permanent Trade Proposal Thread

Do you think Bergevin needs to make a move to get another Prust-type player? Or is Prust, Moen and White good enough?

I still say the Habs need more size on the blue line. Is Hal Gill available as a stop-gap until Tinordi is ready?

Or would another skilled forward be better? TSN's tradecentre special airs tonight - what do the Habs need?

I'd like to replace Moen. For a big guy he really doesn't hit much. I think galy jr. hits more then Moen most nights.

I wouldn't touch Gill with a 10 foot pole.

Two trades I make...

Minnesota gets Desharnis, Beaulieu, and Leblanc for M.Koivu

Nashville gets Gionta for Gill and a pick..

Pacs - Koivu - Ryder

Bourque - Pleks - Gallagher

Gally - Eller - Prust

Moen - White - Armatrong

Markov Emelin

Gorges Subban

Bouillon Gill

Diaz

I don't get the love for Gill. yes he is a PK specialist. Yes he raises our average hieght. But the guy is useless 5 on 5 and has the physicality of a marshmallow.

No thanks to gill. Very slow and doesn't hit.

1 Minnesota is not making that trade.

2) Hal Gill has already said he won't play for Therrien

Fair enough. I just really want size on the backend so that punks think twice about going into the corners against the Habs. Having Bouillon/Kaberle together is not the answer. I think at some point Tinordi should be called up, especially if Diaz is out longterm.

Moen is a relatively cheap cap hit at $1.85M, who has experience and a cup. I would love another Prust so maybe a team would take Moen and Weber for a tougher 4th line winger? I still don't want the Habs to be goons but recognize that Prust can't do everything himself. He's going to need help.

mikko is a pipe dream! we would have to part with a significant roster player not 2 prospects and our smallest center. minny would be asking for one of the rookies and a pick or patches/ PK in that deal.

-clutterbuck although on injured reserve right now would be a target for me on the 4th line. to replace moen he is one of the biggest hitters in hockey.

-a package to get clowe from SJ would be nice as well. a big 200+lb boy who is tough. there isnt many of those guys around though.

I just realized now that Ryder is back we can bring back the ol' "Ryder and _______ for" trade proposals!

And based on most of the last few proposals, I'm thinking "Ryder and Weber for" could really take off.

just to emphasize i think gallager could take him, heck he lost a fight to a little guy when he played for us, no I don't see bringing the big guy back.

So if Yzerman decides to rebuild with youth in Tampa and shed high-priced contracts - do the Habs make a play for Lecavalier? If so, what would Stevie want?

Lars Eller, Nathan Beaulieu, Tomas Kaberle & 2nd round pick. Obviously Kaberle gets bought out. Tampa clears Vinnie's salary and gets two good prospects and a pick.

Montreal gets a legitimate #1 centre thus improving our depth at the position (Desharnais, Plekanec). Galchenyuk moves to the wing.

Bourque-Lecavalier-Ryder

Pacioretty-Desharnais-Gallagher

Galchenyuk-Plekanec-Gionta

Prust-White-Armstrong

Do you make this trade?

In a word, no. Why do the Habs part with legitimate value for a player whose contract makes him one of the least desirable trade commodities in the league? This is the Gomez deal, Part 2.

I don't see TB buying Vinny out. That would be crazy. If they're going to part ways might as well get value in return. Perhaps TB eats some of his contract in a trade?

You have to be kidding me??? Even if TB offered to take GIonta AND Kaberle's contracts in exchange for Vinny, i wouldn't make that deal, let alone trade Eller or Beaulieu. On the other hand if Gainey was still here he would probably offer, Eller, Bealiau, Gallgher and DD.

I could see them considering a buy-out next year, before they lose the compliance buy-out option.

I sure hope Bergevin does not think like some of the posters on this subject. Intreresting ideas but nothing I proposed at this point would make me take Lecavelier. He is on the downhill side of his career. Still good but not what Bergevin would take, I hope.

Any body remeber trading for an over the hill Savard because we passed him up in the draft? This is the same idea and we all know how well that trade turned out. Give TB kaberle and a 3rd round draft choice ok maybe a 2nd. Thats about it. But I still don't want that contract.

What was the trade that Gainey offered Tampa (for Lecavalier) a few years back?

Plekanec

Gorges

Subban

I seem to recall Markov's name being mentioned which soured the deal?

Okay, how about Moen, Weber & Leblanc for Ryan Clowe?

I'd do that in a second. However Doug Wilson would probably be fired for even considering it.

While I think Weber will succeed after leaving Minteeal and Leblanc will be an effective 3rd liner, all three are at a all time low in their value.

I honestly think trading Lars for Vinny straight up in a cap world would be a horrible move.

Id much rather give that money to Perry should he make the UFA market.
