Draft Day, Rounds Two through Seven

Collberg played most of the year in the SEL, although he didn't record a point in 41 games. On the flip side, I imagine he didn't see a lot of ice time. At the World Juniors though, he had 7 points in 6 games. He's on the smallish side, however, around 5'11.

But dominated Under 18s and WJC

Outscored Filip Foppa

hmm but in terms of NHL potential? Possible top 6? Top 9?

From the free guide from NHLMockDraft.org, here's a blurb on Collberg who they had going 17th:

"An elusive forward with heaping helpings of talent in his hands, Collberg had a

disappointing season in the Elitserien (no points in 41 games). Still, he got minimal ice-time and

displayed some excellent production in several international competitions. His flaw is his

strength and occasional ‘perimeter’ play – but at seventeen, many would consider him an

outright steal."

According to who? Thrower's still on the board here.

Was on radio

But looks like they kept it.

They took him.

Thrower, from THN: "A catalyst for his club and played on the top pairing with 2011 Colorado first rounder Duncan Siemens, where he faced opponents' top lines."

Better, still:

"He's one of those players who can do it all," said one scout. "Finishes his checks, runs the powerplay and he's not afraid to defend himself."

From NHLMockDraft.org's guide:

"Dalton Thrower’s willingness to go to war with just about any opponent is sure to entice many GMs who

usually experience Pavlovian reactions to tough and talented blueliners. Gritty and physically

intimidating, Thrower is mobile with some modest offensive upside. He should be an average middlepairing

distributor/puck-mover and see spot time on a second-unit powerplay. Still, in terms of pure skill

he’s a step or more below many of the defensemen in this draft and with the game trending towards

faster, more open play – he could be passed over on day one."
