Quick signed 10 years at an average of 5.8M/year. I would have expected more.

It would be safe to say Price will sign at least a little below Quick.

My prediction now is 10 years at 5.25M/year

6-7 years is decent. I'd almost prefer the longer term type deal, they will certainly be no more after the new CBA. Not a fan for vets, but young players like Subban and Price, long term/lower cap hit seems the way to go. Rumor is that Subban is about to sign as well.

Subban rumored to be working on a 3 year deal.

I must admit that I would like to see Price locked for 8+ years at a lower cap hit than for a 3-4 years deal...

Yeah, but there is no saying that Price would want anything to do with that. I wouldn't if I were him. He doesn't really need to worry about job security. He'll be resigned when his contract is up. It just gives him more flexibility.

Hes 25, if he does one of those cap hit lowering deals where the last couple years he gets paid very little, he is going to need a 13-15 year deal.

He's not gonna go super cheap when he's still 32-33 years old.

Ok enough. Get Subban inked now. Even if I doubt that it will happen, I want to take the "offer sheet possibility" out of my mind ASAP.
