sakiqc
Part II in 2 summers from now. I would say in about a year from now. Year 1 is already about done and I would guess the Habs lock him up or not for long term before trade deadline of 13-14, so March 2014 which is 13 months from now. Colin
He'll be resigned long-term sometime in February next year. 6 years at 5.5/per or something like that. No worries.

(contract is this year and next, which means he can start negotiating his extension in Jan of his final year, right?)

(contract is this year and next, which means he can start negotiating his extension in Jan of his final year, right?) For one year extensions, it's January of the following calendar year. For multi-year SPC's, it's one calendar year prior to the expiration. That's why often on July 1st, some extensions get announced among the UFA deals. Colin
Well, I don't think his'll be announced that quickly - 40 games or so won't be enough to give management an idea of progression, but I'm guessing mid-next season he'll sign long-term.
