Neech
Our canine talisman has brought us good fortune. Praise be. Tonight, the Habs travel to Detroit to face the venerable Red Wings. A team full of veterans built for the playoffs, it's the kids, Tatar and Nyquist, who have caught fire and are pulling the Wings towards a wildcard spot. The Habs counter with the same lineup that beat the Sabres, although Bouillon might be in for Murray. We'll need to be sharper than we were on Tuesday, as well as the last time we played Detroit, where we managed to squeak out an overtime loss in one of the most boring games of the year. The Habs have become more fun, and better, since then. Puck drops around 7:11.

DON
Mongo looks to be sitting and Frankie-Tinordi are in. I would still 'rest' Bouillon, but might as well give em all some icetime so aint too rusty in playoffs. Bournival-Eller-White nice replacement 4th line eh. Nice to have some fairly good quality depth this year. I expect a boring game, but maybe Habs can light em up and make it a bit entertaining. Machine of Loving Grace
We need to make Jiminy Howard look like the middling goalie he is. And if they put the Monster in net, it better be Monster Slaying Day.

Habsfan84
Well good start to the game for the Habs. Have a few good chances and Pleky gets the goal. Now we gotta kill one off.
sim.on
PK needs to develop his wrister. Wristers are more accurate and generally have a quicker release. He could have made it 2 nothing there, and it would be super useful on his end to end rushes where he breaks into the zone and cant find a teammate to pass to. Karlson puts up a lot of points and scores a lot of goals with his wrister. that was a really good looking PK
Lovett's Magnatones
I like what they've got going behind the net the last 10-15 games.

Lovett's Magnatones
That makes 7 twenty goal seasons for Plekanec. It would be 8 in a row if it weren't for the two and a half men line, and playing with Blunden, White, and Louis Leblanc in 11-12.
Machine of Loving Grace
Where was this Habs when I saw them in January? Bah!
dlbalr
Where was this Habs when I saw them in January? Bah! They weren't playing this edition of the Red Wings. They're a lot different team without Datsyuk and Zetterberg...and right now, that's a good thing.
dlbalr
Here's a stat we don't see often - the Habs had just one blocked shot in the period (Bournival). On the other hand, Detroit only had two.
DON
Tinordi more icetime than Subban, might as well test him out vs a weak opponent.
Easy Ryder
Plek Will transform 27 and 11 into a lot more than just offensive prospects. Please keep this Line rolling.
Habsfan84
now Detroit will have all the momentum. Have to capitalize on our chances

Habsfan84
Really strong play by Vanek on that goal. Really needed that goal.
dlbalr
It looks like the top line is really starting to develop some chemistry. Now let's hope that line gets kept intact.
dlbalr
One small concern from the period is that most of the shots have come from two players. Plekanec and Vanek each have 4, the rest of the forwards combined have 5. Subban had a shift that lasted 3:22 in the 2nd. That's probably a season high. DON
How will Galchenyuk play when he is 22-24years old and 10-15/20lbs heavier? He will be a handful for any d-man (a la Pacioretty adding poundage and speed).
