dlbalr
Lucic to Kings. LOL For the 13th pick and Martin Jones. (There may be more to the deal still.) You have to think Boston's up to something.
kuternoga
For the 13th pick and Martin Jones. (There may be more to the deal still.) You have to think Boston's up to something. 3rd pick. Hope Coyotes will fkc them up and won't trade it.
habs rule
For the 13th pick and Martin Jones. (There may be more to the deal still.) You have to think Boston's up to something. Boston retains 2.7 in salary. They are clearing out all of Chiarelli's mistakes I guess. Or what they percieve to be his mistakes. Maybe Going for #3 overall. And gets colin miller. 22 year old defence, never heard of him.
hab29RETIRED
Looks like they have started the tank for next year early. Boston retains 2.7 in salary. dlbalr
James Wisniewski's adventure continues. He's off to his third team in four months. This time, it's Carolina who gets him. Anton Khudobin goes the other way as the musical chairs game begins... Carolina trades for Eddie Lack who deals Khudobin to Anaheim who are rumoured to be dealing John Gibson to Edmonton. Dallas acquires Antti Niemi's negotiating rights for a 7th. One would think they'd have to move out Kari Lehtonen before they could sign Niemi. dlbalr
Emerson Etem to the Rangers for Carl Hagelin (picks involved on both sides as well). That's an interesting move. I like it for the Rangers.

Lovett's Magnatones
Emerson Etem to the Rangers for Carl Hagelin (picks involved on both sides as well). That's an interesting move. I like it for the Rangers. The NHL network is so bad they're just mentioning it. They talked about the Niemi Blockbuster for seven minutes! dlbalr
Cam Talbot goes to Edmonton. That might put an end to the Gibson speculation. Talbot fetches a lot less than had been reported though, a late 2nd, a mid 3rd, and an early 7th.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Cam Talbot goes to Edmonton. That might put an end to the Gibson speculation. Talbot fetches a lot less than had been reported though, a late 2nd, a mid 3rd, and an early 7th. And Eddie Lack - a decent goalie who can play 50 good games per year, vastly overrated by Canucks fans, and rather underrated outside that market - is shipped to the Canes for a 3rd and a 7th in 2016 (!). Clearly, the Lehrner trade was a laughable overpay. He was the least impressive of the three G moved. What a joke. I find it perversely reassuring to see that, despite all the early hype, GMs continue to under-value the goaltending position at the trade table. (Poor Vancouver! This is the third goalie they trade where their fan-base feels they got ripped off. Leave it to the Canuckleheads to have the best organizational strength in the position that is most radically devalued in the NHL's inexplicable managerial culture). dlbalr
So Dallas signs Niemi, 3 years, $4.5 M per year. That's one pricey goalie tandem with Lehtonen just under $6 M.
Machine of Loving Grace
So Dallas signs Niemi, 3 years, $4.5 M per year. That's one pricey goalie tandem with Lehtonen just under $6 M. Their D right now is dirt cheap which balances it out.
dlbalr
So LA didn't buy out Mike Richards' contract. They terminated his deal for a 'material breach of the requirements of his contract'. There is a clause in the CBA that says a contract can be terminated if: a) The player fails, refuses, or neglects to obey the teams' rules governing training and conduct of players - if such failure, refusal, or neglection is enough to constitute a material breach of the contract b) Fails, refuses, or neglects to render his services or in any other manner materially breach the contract. So what did Richards do (or not do) that makes LA think they can terminate his contract unilaterally? Expect the NHLPA to grieve this one as by going this route, the Kings are trying to get out of paying him a cent.

ICEWATER77
I couldn't care less what happens to Richards. I sure as hell don't want the Kings getting off scott-free though! Then they'll have all that extra $ to throw at..Sharp? No thanks!
Machine of Loving Grace
Kings ain't winning this. They got the NHL, NHLPA and Newport on them for this. Kings need to be hit hard by NHL for attempting to circumvent the cap.
dlbalr
Regardless of what happens with Richards, the Kings aren't getting out from under this entirely. Even if they don't have to pay him once the inevitable grievance process plays out, they still get dinged with a $1.32 M cap penalty for each of the next five years. JoeLassister
Don't the Kings have a top pair dman suspended indefinitely for off-ice behavior that counts 100% against their cap ?
DON
And supposedly Richards got nabbed at border crossing with ? (something that Kings lawyers thinks is enough I assume)
dlbalr
Today was the deadline for qualifying offers. The notable-ish names not qualified: Mark Barberio (Tampa Bay) Jordan Caron (Colorado) - former 1st rounder Ben Hanowski (Calgary) - part of the Iginla to Pittsburgh deal Andrew MacWilliam (Toronto) - decent stay at home D prospect, this one surprises me Riley Nash (Carolina) Tyler Pitlick (Edmonton) - high 2nd round pick never panned out Ryan Stanton (Vancouver) Yannick Weber (Vancouver) No major names in there but a couple of somewhat young players that could be worthy of a two-way deal in there. From the Habs, Drayson Bowman and Eric Tangradi were let go.
