dlbalr
Here are the rosters for tonight's preseason game in Quebec. There are 13 F and 7 D listed for each team so there will be a couple of healthy scratches among these. Puck drop is at 7 PM. RDS has the game (and I think they're the only ones to be doing the TV coverage).
Machine of Loving Grace
Pittsburgh has a lot of young, hungry players playing. Habs are playing with almost a full roster. I wouldn't be surprised if we lose but I'd rather we win just because.

I wouldn't be surprised if we lose but I'd rather we win just because. It's the reverse of last year. Colorado sent a lot of their regulars while Montreal iced the minimum number of veterans (and I believe Bouillon and Bowman were in there to get to the minimum). The Habs were the hungrier team and wound up winning.
dlbalr
It sounds like the 4th line is Flynn-Hudon-Scherbak so I wouldn't expect much from Scherbak in his first game back.
dlbalr
Price is playing the full game tonight and on Thursday.
dlbalr
The lines: de la Rose - Plekanec - Gallagher Eller - Galchenyuk - Semin Fleischmann - Desharnais - Weise Flynn - Hudon - Scherbak Markov - Subban Emelin - Petry Barberio - Gilbert The scratches (ones who made the trip but won't play are Beaulieu and Mitchell). dlbalr
From the sounds of things, the Habs have controlled the play for the most part but there haven't been many shots/chances.
dlbalr
Semin gets the Habs on the board. Galchenyuk gets the assist.
Habsfan84
Wasn't the prettiest of goals. Letang sort of batted it in to his own net with his hand. Pittsburgh gets it right back on a lucky goal of their own
dlbalr
Eller restores the lead early in the 2nd on a PP. The Habs still have a PP as well (Letang took a late double minor).
Meller93
Was the goal called off? Score says 1-
Machine of Loving Grace
2-1. Eller got lucky then couldn't bury it later in an empty net. Wish we could see Chuck with Flash and Semin.
dlbalr
Was the goal called off? Score says 1-1 The scoreboard is only getting updated once in a while. Since it's a non-NHL arena, the stat system each arena uses isn't in place. Thus, they manually add in goal details between periods, at commercial breaks, etc.
Guest Stogey24
Why? Eller has been solid with that line.
DON
Eller maybe should be on 1st PP unit? Sounds like Price playing very well?
dlbalr
Sounds like Price playing very well? Price wasn't busy early but it seemed like Pittsburgh started to pick up their play towards the end of the period. 2-1 good guys after 2. Meller93
I'm feeling a good second. So excited to get the real season underway
dlbalr
Habs score early in the 3rd to make it 3-1. Radio guys think it's Flynn who got it.
Machine of Loving Grace
Pretty much dominated this game. Eller and Semin seem to flip sides a lot. Eller got a goal that was pretty lucky and then missed an empty net after. Semin takes a lot of weak angle shots at the goalie. Barberio always connects his passes. Putting guys like DLR and Flynn with Plek and Gallagher just stifles them. Can't wait for Patches to get back. Quebec City hates Subban. dlbalr
Fleischmann sets up Weise for an empty netter, 4-1.
hab29RETIRED
don't get why they wouldn't try Scherbak with them. Pretty much dominated this game. Eller and Semin seem to flip sides a lot. dlbalr
don't get why they wouldn't try Scherbak with them. Because it's his first game in three weeks after playing through pain in the rookie tourney (where he struggled). That, and he's not ready. From what I heard/read, he was out of his league against opposition fourth lines tonight, it would have been even worse if they threw him to the wolves and had him play top line minutes. habs rule
My secret agent decoder ring wasn't working tonite so I couldn't watch the game. Then we got very busy so it made no difference. Saw the highlights that is about it. Nice we won a game, but that looked like our A negative team so we should win.
Guest Stogey24
You can tell Sherbak is still growing into his body, which isn't a bad thing.
Machine of Loving Grace
You can tell Sherbak is still growing into his body, which isn't a bad thing. Not at all. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Scherbak. Just far too many people got overhyped on his potential and thought he could be ready early like Gallagher and Galchenyuk were. Scherbak is going to need at least a season in the AHL, possibly two. That's fine.
