Toronthab
Phillip Danault has zero talent. He's this year's Jacob De La Rose. He's YET ANOTHER try hard that skates well and plays the system with no appreciable skill on offense. Hoe many of these guys do they need? Bergevin is like that mechanic in all our towns--the rust guy--that specializes in fixing shit box cars nobody else will bother with. He's the dude that asks you to buy your lawnmower so he can put two hours of work in and make a 13 dollar profit. You can say Byron plays tough, but there are plenty of Chihuahuas and Yorkies at the dog park that act fierce...but they're seven pound dogs. If not, and he's still tinkering with the bottom-6 and tire kicking UFAs, they need to cut bait with him (and likely Therrien will still be around) at the end of next season. BriesBois and Boucher it is! Colourful post Lovett's..
Commandant
See where that bottom 6 gets you in the playoffs. A small bottom 6 seemed to work for the Blackhawks last year.
Commandant
Arizona gets 1 point, they are 2 points back of us, but have the tie breaker.
Trizzak
Arizona gets 1 point, they are 2 points back of us, but have the tie breaker. They were up 2 goals in the 3rd period, wtf?!?
Commandant
They were up 2 goals in the 3rd period, wtf?!? Blew it real late (for the tie) and then gave up the OT goal like 20 seconds in.
Trizzak
Detroit makes the playoffs for the 25th year in a row. Philly needs 2 points in 2 games to leap Boston (Bruins hold the tie-breaker). So, do you want the Bruins to play Washington in the first round? Or have a minuscule chance at a top 3 pick?

John B
Flyers have two kicks at the can. Doesn't look good for Boston.
BlueKross
Flyers have two kicks at the can. Doesn't look good for Boston. Yeah-- interesting that they would become the second wild card and have to start against Washington leaving one of the New York teams to crossover and play Florida, as it stands now. The Chicoutimi Cucumber
It's a small consolation for one of the most depressing Habs seasons in memory...but at least the Bruins are out as well. Sad that it's come to this.

Lovett's Magnatones
Habs, Bruins, Sens, Leafs, Canucks, where's the fun? The rubber match of Detroit-Tama will be more fun than ten hot fudge sundaes. Truckloads of thrills.
Trizzak
Elliotte Friedman reporting that Pavel Datsyuk may go back to Russia after this season for personal reasons. His 7.5 million dollar cap hit would still apply to the Wings' cap for 1 more season because of the 35+ rule. I wonder if he agrees to a trade to a floor team first so that his retirement penalty doesn't hurt the Red Wings? This was pretty much confirmed today. Datsyuk says he wants to help Detroit in any way he can, which basically means he'll accept a trade to a cap floor team, not report, get suspended, and play next season in Russia.
