dlbalr
The Habs have signed IceCaps centre Markus Eisenschmid to a two year, entry-level contract covering this season and next. http://www.habsworld.net/2017/01/habs-sign-markus-eisenschmid/
dlbalr
I added a note to the write-up on the site this afternoon with a tidbit that's probably worth a mention: The timing of the contract is worth noting. As Eisenschmid turns 22 in 2017, that becomes his ‘signing age’ and accordingly, he is only eligible for a two year deal. Had the Habs signed him at any point in 2016, his signing age would have been 21 and his contract would have had to have been three years (through 2018-19). Basically, they waited until they could give him the shorter contract. That's not something you see too often.
dlbalr
He signed quite cheap: 16-17: $605K salary, $30K signing bonus, $70K AHL 17-18: $680K salary, $30K signing bonus, $70K AHL No performance bonuses while the signing bonus is the cheapest I've seen from this management regime. All in all, the cap hit is $642,500.
