For the second time in less than two weeks, Laval (9-7-2) will welcome Vancouver's AHL affiliate in Utica (6-9-1) but this time they will be in town for a couple of games.  No word yet on whether Charlie Lindgren will start after being sent down earlier today.

Utica picked up another in the third and held on for the 3-2 win.  McNiven wound up allowing three goals on 14 shots which won't help his case for sticking around. https://theahl.com/stats/game-summary/1017378

They're back at it this afternoon at 3 PM (televised on RDS for those interested).  Lindgren gets the start while Schlemko will once again be in the lineup.

When do we pull out the pitchforks on Lefebvre again? When they go below .500, or is now okay?

How do they have such a mediocre record with a team with that many AHL vets?

Any time is a good time to pull out the pitchforks when it comes to Lefebvre.  I will say, however, that it's a pretty thin roster at the moment.  The top-end depth is there (and not really doing all that well) but their depth is well below average now.  That's what happens when there are a bunch of injuries and they never bother to bring in enough decent call-ups - it's a mistake they make every year.

McCarron gets two 3rd period goals to tie it at 2-2 and is now in OT.

Utica won in the shootout.

On the plus side, Schlemko didn't get hurt again:

  • 2 weeks later...

Taped this game and just got around to watching it.  My French is pretty rudimentary so I got confused with what happened in the OT with 2 and a half minutes left Laval had 2 extra players come off their bench reulting in playing with 5 guys on the ice for a few seconds.    Probably played 7 seconds with 4 skaters and 3 seconds with 5.  Maybe Utica also had an extra player? When play stopped the refs held a huddle and then just started up 3 on 3 again.
