Laval (14-14-7) kicks off the New Year with a home game against the division-leading Marlies (23-11-0).  Brett Lernout is expected to play after the Habs sent him down earlier in the day.  They will, however, be without Jeremy Gregoire who has been ruled out of the next three games at a minimum.

2-1 Marlies at the midway mark.  Audette has the goal for Laval from Eisenschmid.  That's Audette's first point in a month.

The second half of the game wasn't any better.  Although it was a one-goal game (3-2) late after Cracknell scored with just under six minutes left, the Marlies added two more (neither was an EN) to take it 5-2.

Time to call up the whole AHL line Terry-Cracknell-Scherbak. Scratch Pacioretty for a game or two (unless really are going to deal him in-season) and send couple bottom six guys to Laval.
