How has McCarron been playing?

any hope he can be a solid 4th line center?

A 1st round bust seems more likely, dela Rose would be better option, as he can skate well and seems pretty good on the PK.

I wonder if could even get a 7th round pick for McCarron?

Thanks Don.

Another dud... so disappointing !

Just my opinion, I would defer to dlbalr or Commandant more knowledgeable take on McCarron, but as a 1st rounder becoming a 4th line checker, still should be considered a bust.

6g in 39games in AHL also isn't encouraging or improvement we are hoping to see from him.

At least Scherbak was productive most games in Laval and has shown he is too good for AHL.

We reached on the draft pick from Day 1.  He never should have been a first rounder.  It was a bad pick from the start and easily predictable that this would happen.

If a kid isn't a scorer at 16, and isnt a scorer at 17 and isn't a scorer at 18, all while playing against his own age group (I can forgive kids rushed to men's leagues), but in his own age grou he can't score? he's not going to score in the NHL.

A solid fourth liner?  Probably not.  A serviceable one?  Sure.  A centre?  Maybe - he's not that good at that spot currently.  McCarron should be able to play eight minutes a night and hit people but his style of play is probably better suited to the wing than down the middle.
