A 4th fifth round pick for this year (unless Montoya plays a 5th into a 4th).

A good start to housecleaning.

2018
1st round pick - Montréal
2nd round pick - Montréal
2nd round pick - Montréal (from Chicago - Danault trade)
2nd round pick - Montréal (from Washington - Eller trade)
3rd round pick - Montréal

4th round pick - Los Angeles (from Montréal - King trade)

5th round pick - Montreal (from Washington - Jerabek trade)

5th round pick - Montréal
5th round pick - Montréal (from Edmonton - Montoya trade)**
5th round pick - Montréal (from Los Angeles - Mitchell trade)*
6th round pick - Montréal
7th round pick - Philadelphia (from Montréal - pick #199 traded for a 2018 7th round pick)
* If the Kings make the playoffs, Montréal will instead receive their own 2018 4th round pick back
** If Montoya plays seven more games this regular season, Montréal will instead receive a 2018 4th round pick

It will be interesting to see if they move a few more pieces that perhaps wouldn't cause much of a stir but maybe just enough to increase our chances of dropping a bit more for the draft. Probably not, but I can't help wonder....but that could only be a thought if a few more pieces are moved for draft picks.

Not bad.  Recoup an asset for a guy that might not resign.  I figured Jerabek's value would be somewhere in the mid-round pick range.  Hopefully this is only the start.  I'd like to see more UFAs dealt for picks.

Depends on where Bergevin mindset is at. If his ego still thinks we can make the playoffs and this teams core is good I don't see much action from him at the deadline, more at the draft and July 1st.

If his mindset is to get younger then he should be trading our Ufa's and get what they can.

Good thing we don't need puck moving Dman, and we need older slower Dman.  How is he traded over Benn??

Why did Washington want Benn as well? I hadn't heard that.

No just saying, Benn the one who should of been traded.

Again, you need a buyer for that. Depth d-men like him will be moved over the next 5 days, but also depends on what is offered for him. I have zero problem if he on the 3rd pairing (and 3rd pairing only) next year instead of trading him for a 6th/7th round pick. But a 4th rounder I would ship him out for, or as part of package deal with a winger for that elusive centre or centre prospect.

The pick is in 2019

Because our D is so good we can give up on a guy in his first season in North America and get nothing back for him. It's so hard to care about this team.

I care about the team ,just don't care about the management that's running the team.

He appears to be a fringe NHLer doesnt he?

I was going to post the same comment.  But I guess that we can’t get rid of slow, big, useless pylons that remind MB of himself.
