Feb. 23, Laval vs Utica, 7 PM

Laval (19-26-8) finds themselves back on the road for a pair of games over the next two days, the first of which comes tonight against Utica (29-15-10).  While the Rocket's back end is even more depleted with Noah Juulsen up with the Habs, they could have both Chris Terry and Niki Petti back in the lineup up front at least.

Terry's back, Petti isn't ready to go quite yet.  Scherbak is in as well.  And somehow, Matt Petgrave is back in the top-four after being released earlier this week (meanwhile, he plays ahead of an actual Montreal prospect):

After a scoreless first period, Laval picked up three in the 2nd to lead 3-0 after 40 minutes.  Terry (2) and Boucher with the goals for Laval.  McNiven has 15 saves and an assist so far.

5-2 win:1banana::1banana:

McNivan 3rd star, but McCarron showed him up with 9 PIMs and 2a.

Is McCarron improving his game? Do these numbers show he's developing ?

If I remember correctly, he cannot be waived next year

From the games I've seen of him this season, he hasn't progressed much.  He takes advantage of the slower pace in the AHL to aid his limited offensive skillset but that won't be available to him in the NHL.  He also is still a penalty minute machine.  He is waiver-eligible next year and if they don't get rid of him between now and next season, he'll probably earn the last spot on the roster by default.

Thanks, let's hope another year in the AHL helps him

I could have phrased that better - waiver-eligible means he has to clear waivers starting next season.  He won't be back in the AHL after this year unless he passes through unclaimed.
