Byron would be? Why would he play on 1st line? Has he ever?

The highest Byron has played was

Byron - Galchenyuk - Radulov

before Chuck's knee injury.

now was that the first line... or was Pacioretty - Plekanec - Gallagher the first line at the time.

Seems to me the two lines were pretty interchangeable at the time.

Obviously Drouin would be the best option, but he can’t play 1st line left wing, center and right wing.

Lehkonen isn’t a true first liner. The only 3 first liners we have are Pacioretty, Drouin and Gallagher. Even Gallagher is a stretch as a top line player but he’s fine.

Sign a center as a free agent, and keep Pacioretty. Keep Drouin at center for another year if need be. Some answers are already on the team.

I’d even draft Kotkaniemi over trading Pacioretty, and I want Zadina.

I would hope a 30g RW is "fine".

84th in the league amongst forwards in points is “fine” for a 1st line player.

Stastny is 86th. May as well sign him to be a “fine” first line center as well.

Its more than double the term, and dollars of his 2 year 1.8 million per year, extension that kicked in for winning the cup.

5 years 20 million or 2 years 3.6 million???  Easy to see why..

Nash or Lucic pick your poison who would you want?

I would take my chances on a 2 year deal with Nash then I would in a trade and be on the hook for 5 years of Lucic .

I would also chose Nash for shorter term out of the two.

If the sens trade Karlsson and blow up there team do we try and get Pageau?

I think it looks more and more like Tavares is staying in NY, so a combo of O'Reilly/Pageau could be really good.

We could then add Nash on a 2 year deal to fill the left wing hole and scoring.

Nash - O'Reilly  - Gallagher

Domi  - Pageau  - Drouin

Lehkonen  - Danault  - Shaw

Byron  - Rose  - Scherbak

Carr, Deslauriers extras

Neither. Take Moulson off Buffalo's hands for picks and prospects.

I would only do that if we land Tavares. But looks like he is resigning in NY. Molson hasn't done anything since he left Tavares.

If Buffalo was concerned about Moulson's contract, they could just buy him out.  Their GM announced today that they won't be doing so - my guess then is that they're okay carrying him in the minors once again.

Speaking of Buffalo, they're letting Robin Lehner go without a qualifying offer so they're on the market for a new starter.
