CH AHL recall log

I posted a few times how the CH tends to call up player in December & January for a few games, for what appears to me as an evaluation stint. They seem to do this in a planned way, except for the years when they have a lot of injuries. Sometimes the recalls are surprising.

I have not found a way to show this in a nice chart or visual way, so here is the spreadsheet link:

   https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XXMPBmccRWFI1r8WeKKnDROjGRWGSzqoCEjJYoE9JXo/edit?usp=sharing

On a yearly basis during MB's tenure, he calls up prospects and some of them stick around for many games:

2012-2013 mostly from March on: Dumont (10), Pateryn (3), Tinordi (8), Blunden (5), Beaulieu (4)

2013-2014 mostly beginning of season: Bournival (60), Emelin (59), Tinordi (24), Beaulieu (17), Thomas (18), etc.

2014-2015 throughout year: Beaulieu (64), Bournival (33), Tokarski (17), Tinordi (13), Pateryn (17), Delarose (33), etc.

2015-2016 mostly end of season with exceptions: Pateryn (38), Andrigheto (54), Carr (23),  McCarron(20), etc.

2016-2017 throughout season: Carr (31), Redmond (16), McCarron (31), Andrighetto (46), Barberio (26), etc.

2017-2018 throughout season: Mete (49), Froese (48), Deslaurier (58), Jerabek (25), Lernout (36),  Juulsen (23), etc.

The point I was trying ot make is for those call ups that are puzzling but that seem to take place methodically:

2012-2013: * half season post-lockout *

2013-2014: Holland (2), St-Pierre (1), Dumont (2)

2014-2015: Bowman (3), Tangradi (7), Andrighetto (4 & 8)

2015-2016 (*injuries): Holloway (1), Bartley (10), Ellis (3), Dietz (13), Hanley (10)

2016-2017: Hanley (7), Terry (14), Johnson (7), Farnham (3)

2017-2018: AHL team ...

I think the CH  does that

I know, Terry, Bowman, etc... nothing to interpret there. I just wanted to share the spreadsheet since I was trying to make a point that we should bring up Evans and let Kotka go to the world juniors.

Of course, now it is obvious that Kotka has cemented his position as this year's 3C. But I wanted to share the spreadsheet in case it helps others.

Putting it together made me realise how much better our NHL roster is this year and how much better the prospect pool is now.
