dlbalr
Habs trade down from 50. 64 and 126 in return. Sam Fagemo goes at 50 who is the player we picked to the Habs in the HW mock at 50.

Neech
Doesn't seem like great value on that trade down when compared with other similar deals in this round.
habs#4,9,10,33
This is shaping up to be a very disappointing 2nd round for the Habs.
Chris
Yea, seems like a reach on the Struble pick, don't know the reason for american high school players. No reason to trade back ti get another pick in the 120's
dlbalr
As usual, I have my Day 2 article on the main site with scouting reports, stats, and more about the players. http://www.habsworld.net/2019/06/day-2-of-the-2019-draft/

No reason to trade back ti get another pick in the 120's Part of it is they probably believe in his upside (he seems to be a high risk-high reward type of player) and part of the reason for drafting USHS players is the extended timeline. If they draft all CHL guys, they'll run into a wall when they need to sign them all due to the 50-contract limit. This probably won't be the only time they go to this route for this reason. I also wouldn't be surprised if they trade out of one of their picks at some point today to give them extra ammunition for next year when they're hosting it. Habs Fan in Edmonton
I assume there wasn't anyone that really stood out for them when they picked at 50 so they decided to trade down. One thing about Struble is that he is one of the youngest guys in the draft, doesn't turn 18 until August, still early in his development but all scouting reports seem to agree that he is an excellent skater and plays with an edge. dlbalr
The TV listings had the draft ending at 3:30 EST. It's after 3:00 and we're just starting the fourth round. This is going a lot slower than expected.

dlbalr
The Habs have four picks in the fifth round - 126, 131, 136, and 138. I have to think at least one of those will be dealt for a 2020 pick.

(They did a lot of these pick swaps last year so that part doesn't surprise me.)
