He seems a competent 4th liner but I thought Weal/Poehling/Evans/Suzuki was enough depth, just likely would be too green for Julien.

NO one, even Weise figured he would ever wear a Habs jersey again. I still dont understand Hudon? He is productive when played; 10g 30pts in 72games as a rookie. I guess Weal simply replaces Peca's role and the goon i guess is not needed.

Trizzak
Poehling and Suzuki are going to have to have an outstanding training camp to make the Habs next season. Already 13 forwards signed for next season, and that's before Armia and Lehkonen get their deals (with Hudon also in that mix as forward #16 until further notice.) I expect both Poehling and Suzuki will do a full-ish season in Laval, and I think they'll both be better for it. Regardless of youth being ready, that's a really full bottom 6. Is a buyout or 2 possible? Retained salary trade? How much salary are they willing to bury in the minors?

Deslauriers press box. Weise laval. Not necessarily line combos... just working this through Drouin domi shaw Tatar danault gally Lehkonen kk armia Byron thompson weal Deslauriers, Suzuki and poehling in laval. Only called up if a top 9 injury happens. Evans, Weise and Peca in laval if 4th liners needed Its certainly crowded at fwd.
tomh009
So, at the moment Folin is the only UFA left (bar Niemi, who will surely be retiring). I should expect that this will be concluded in the near term, too.

You've sent too many players to Laval or to another team, unless you expect them to do 8 defense instead of 14 forwards which is very possible.

Habber31
I honestly think if Montreal had a legit backup down the stretch, they would have made the playoffs. Not that they would have went deep anyways, but still

But we were only a few points away from the last playoff spot so any of a number of things could have won us an extra game or two, and got us into the playoffs. If we had had a stronger backup goalie If Alzner had played up to his salary If Drouin had been a little bit less streaky If our PP had been merely average If Kotkaniemi had figured out how to score on the road If Weber had been healthy all year If Price had not had a bad month If ... Anyway, this season is done. Let's see what Bergevin does this summer to address our weaknesses for 2019-2020.
