He has more goals in the NHL than the AHL this year.

Clearly a late blooming player who rises higher against elite competition.

Or did the PEDs finally pay dividends?

Seems the top scoring forwards play a ton of icetime, 20:00 to 22:00/gm

But top Hab forward last year 17:47.

Kovalchuk is playing 19:30 and producing.

Should Habs try and play top 2 lines more? Or have top forward or two play 20+minutes/gm?

The Byfuglien situation gets a bit weirder. He's leaving 14 million on the table with this termination.

From what I read he’s soured on the team through this process and will than be a UFA and will probably get close to his $7m next year and I’m pretty sure he is not leaving the full $7m on the table for this year either.

The risk is high we will miss the playoffs but there is one thing that would make that feel easier and that is if the leafs also fail.

People in Sweden even thought they would win the cup this year.

Pittsburgh got ripped... Addison and a 1st... .and Minny will probably flip Galchenyuk for more.

If that is what zucker is worth... figure out the tatar deal

exactly,

he won't have a higher return than now,

I think a team would much rather have for a playoff run plus next year

That logic was spouted on Pacioretty and it turned out we got a better return in the summer... so there is no guarantee. But yeah I'd explore it.

Pittsburgh couldn’t get Domi so they traded for Zucker instead?

Pretty scary situation for Jay Boo  yesterday.  Looks like he's fine now.

Higgins 38 pts rookie

Ryder     63 pts rookie

Suzuki    36 pts, what will he end up with after final 23 games? 50-to-55.

I definitely have higher hopes for Suzuki than I ever had for Ryder.

Me too...those are kind of depressing comparators, actually.

They also came into the NHL at an older age.

Right. Ryder was three years older -- and had three years of seasoning in the AHL under his belt.

Not alot room left for losses, 16-4-3 likely needed to get in.

Playing; Pit, Dal, Det, Wash & Ott before deadline. 2 of the 5 they "should" win (luckily 4 of 5 are road games).

So if they lose the two "should win" games, they'll need to do 16-2-3 for the rest ...
