Habs 7th in g/gm but top scoring Hab, Drouin is just tied for 60th place in scoring.

Didnt realize Petry played 32:12 vs Columbus.

Well, see if the Weber-Chiarot pairing can minimize the damage by Ovi.

Caps goals scored by line:

1st: 26

2nd: 25

3rd: 7

4th: 6

Defencemen: 13

Habs goals scored by line:

1st: 20

2nd: 11

3rd: 11

4th: 5

Defencemen: 13

Those Washington two top lines have scored as many goals as our four lines put together. We'll need a solid game from out top two lines and some clutch saves from Price in order to win this one.

One of the harder games we have this month.  A win here would setup for a great month in the standing, assuming we don’t play down to our competition the rest of the month.

I think they always tended to struggle in Washington, oh well just hope they can outgun them and likely need Price to rob Ovi at least once or twice.

Three saves on Ovi ... in the first nine minutes.

That was a better second half to the period but the defensive coverage was lacking in the early going.  The Habs were fortunate to not be down early.

That’s true, but on the balance the Habs came out well, with some solid scoring chances. Samsonov is no Hutchinson, though.

Drouin?

Was it Drouin? 92 rather than 62? I'm watching without sound, sorry.

Either way, the refs let Ovi get away with attempted murder.

EDIT: Yeah, it was Drouin. Sorry about that.

I am at my inlaws who do not have the game. Listening on the radio

I think it was Drouin

Now Suzuki, making a beauty of a pass to Gallagher, open in front of the net ... but intercepted by Caps D, straight into their own net. Nevertheless, mark it a just-past-the-PP goal and 4-0 Habs.

Three points for Tatar and Danault so far. Suzuki is now fully comfortable as an NHL player, and the plays he's starting to make from that comfort... *chef's kiss*

And I don't know if it was getting used to a new coach or maybe even getting used to Eastern Conference play, but Chiarot doesn't even look like the same player that started the year.

Bergevin’s scouts (who?) may have seen something that gave them confidence that Chiarot could adapt to and thrive in the east. Because clearly this is not the Chiarot that played last season.

A bit of a hard-earned empty-netter for Tatar who picks up his fourth point of the night to seal it.  It was a pretty solid road game overall aside from the sluggish start defensively and a small hiccup on the bad Mete pinch that led to Kuznetsov's goal.

The pinch was fine, the pass was not.
