1-0 Rocket after 20 minutes.  Ouellet has the goal on Laval's only shot of the period (shots are 10-1 Syracuse).

10 saves for the Rocket! Could this be the first time this year that we see a Blockaid?

Veilleux scores early in the 3rd, now 2-0.  Shots are now 24-11 Crunch.

Cuddemi made it 3-0 before they did their best to blow the lead (they've been really bad at that lately).  Syracuse scored two in the second half of the third period but it wasn't enough as Laval held on for the 3-2 win. :1banana:

Does that still count as a Blockaid? Two goals on 35 shots is not bad at all, I wish Kinkaid had been able to do that in Montreal.

Incidentally, for anyone who didn't pay close attention to the lineups in the GDT post, the Syracuse netminder who allowed three goals on fifteen shots? Zach Fucale, whom we released a year and a half ago. His save percentage this year is just .800 ...

Though he did play well in the Spengler Cup winning gold and being named the Top Goaltender of the tournament. Your right though, the only reason he was actually available was because of his poor performance throughout this year and being a nothing prospect. How far he has fallen.

And (many if us) had high hopes for him.

Yet another data point for it being hard to predict eventual goalie performance when drafting.
