Nice first game from Kovalchuk, even if his game stats are a little inflated.  (6 hits - really?)  If he keeps playing like that, he can help this team.  Tomorrow will be interesting as going from sitting for two months to playing a back-to-back could be tough.

Yes. I'm resigned to it now, so not going to get pissed off about it.

Scandella looks good after the first two games, though. And Kovalchuk looked legit, too.

Classic pump and dump acquisitions. I hope they play well enough to get us a solid haul at the deadline.

I'm hoping that Scandella could have a longer-term role -- it's not as if we have a logjam of prospects waiting to take over his spot. But let's wait and see what Bergevin's plan is.

Mid-February...

Bergevin: "Marco, how do you feel about signing long-term for your hometown team?"

Scandella: "I think that would be pretty awesome."

Bergevin: "Great. I'm trading you to the Islanders. Go win the Cup. Talk to you in June."

:)  Yeah, I can see this, too. But then we are counting on Chiarot, Mete and Romanov for 2020-21. Is that a safe assumption? Maybe it's good enough to take a chance on.

Might be good to keep Scandella around as insurance in case Romanov needs seasoning. I know he looked like a beast at the World Juniors, but it doesn't pay to be too all-in on raw rookies.

24th place, with a little bad luck 30th isnt out of reach, no one is catching Detroit.

Habs poor record at home stands out, why are they better on the road?

So what’s the mantra this year? Sit on your derrière for Lafreniere? Snake bitten for Quinton? No sweaty for Perfetti?

Tank together for Lafreniere (?)

Tough game for Suzuki and Fleury.

Could be the Norris year for Weber.

"Compet-ay for Met-ay"?

At first I had something like: “Be Victor-ious like Mete”

but went with “Compete for Meat”, wrong pronunciation and all 🙂

The Habs don’t have many names that rhyme with winning, or fighting words.

Weber is an inaugural member of the good old boys club. He might be the chairman.  He could win this year if he keeps it up.
