DON
20-28 Habs vs 25-22 Philly with goalie playing 1st game of year (look for a shutout and not by Price)
dlbalr
Thanks for starting it. I was waiting for Habsfan89 to do this one since the boards were up and running all day so he should have done this one with his streak intact. Tonight's lines: Tatar - Danault - Kovalchuk Domi - Suzuki - Armia Poehling - Kotkaniemi - Lehkonen Cousins - Thompson - Weise Chiarot - Weber Scandella - Petry Mete - Kulak Price gets the start against Alex Lyon. Very happy seeing this change. If Suzuki can hold his own centering the 2nd line, this season would be a satisfying "development year" for Suzuki, Fleury and to a certain degree Poehling Edited January 17, 2020 by alfredoh2009 typos
Trizzak
The powerplay units look lost when they see an aggressive pk.
tomh009
Armia is back! That’s a significant upgrade for the second line.
Commandant
Bad defence leads to a goal against but tatar gets it back 18 seconds later.
dlbalr
Nice bounce back - good to see the Habs score in the last minute for a change instead of allowing one.
Commandant
Again 2 quick goals Plot twist... both were for the good guys. Further plot twist... lehkonen scored one of them @Trizzak

dlbalr
Six points in seven games for Kovalchuk. Part of me was skeptical he'd get six points in total before his time with the team came to an end. Price looks sharp in this one - he'll need a big third period as the Habs haven't quite gotten over their yips yet.
dlbalr
Just 5:21 for Poehling tonight. That's too low for my liking, especially since he has played a lot better as of late. Mete's at 7:27. His previous low this season (8:24) happened to be the other game in Philly.

sbhatt
The LA Kings were clearly crazy...Kovalchuk may be our best forward since he got here.
Chris
That says more about the habs roster more than Kovalchuk's effort in LA Good for him though

Agreed... its not like LA was some stacked team and couldnt give him ice time. Id honestly be good with another 1 year deal for kovy next season. Even at considerably more money than this year

I think Caufield needs another year in the NCAA to put on some muscle, and that leaves us a spot in the top 6 for a goalscorer.
