Chris
Fun fact, I heard the goalie coach of the rangers throw out a stat i never heard before, on the NHL network a couple of days ago No team has made the playoffs without the back up goalies getting 18 points, it was 20 points up until last year or the year before, can't remember who he said
Chris
Kovalchuk is a LW, he was drafted as one and played LW for the devils similar to Ovechkin

He has spent a lot of time on the right wing too though, including when he first started with Montreal.
Chris
yea, but he has always played the LW The habs like moving players wherever, Part of the grand master plan
Trizzak
Danault is not back to start the 3rd. Took a puck to the jaw in the 2nd.

sbhatt
FFS they have been bad ever since taking the 2-0 lead. Giving up a ton of high quality chances against, and failing to get that all-important 3rd goal. Frustrating to watch.
illWill
That is without question one of the top 50 worst penalty calls I've ever seen
Commandant
Chris ####ing Lee screws the Habs over again.
sbhatt
Screwed late, but they played like crap for most of that game and deserved to lose. They gave up so many high quality chances that they were lucky to be 2-2 when the bad call came down. Price bailed them out many times tonight, and they couldn't do their part and get that magic 3rd goal.
Chris
Yea, it was the refs, more bad luck they are 2 games over 500, this was the easy game this week
Trizzak
Habs got a full 2 minutes of 5 on 3 and an extra minute of powerplay. They did nothing with it. Coyotes deserved that win.

Chris
It was since the stat was being kept, last 10-15 years im guessing It was right on the sportsnet show that they broadcast on NHL network

They were the better team in the third though until those shit penalty calls and missing the too many men on the Coyotes.

Thats 10 years ago. And they have kept stats on wins/losses by backup goalies since like the start of backup goalies in 60s... so saying no team EVER was wrong. Its okay man, we all make mistakes... either this guy on NHL network did, or you did... either way... its not true.

Its 10 years ago How about this though, even more recent.... Carey Price had a 44-16-6 record in 2014-15 when he won the hart... thats 94 points. The habs had 110 points that year so 16 by backups... which is less than both the 20 and 18 that was claimed in the post and thats 5 years ago. So how recent is never? I don't care if he was wrong or you were wrong. I'm telling you the stat is wrong, as the Habs did it in 2015 with backups only getting 16 points. I don't care if it was him being wrong on tv, or you hearing it wrong... literally does not matter. The point is that the stat is not actually a stat.
