I would much rather give Lindgren the work, too. We may yet need him, so give him the practice he needs. Seven points behind the Leafs, and they have two games in hand (10 points to the wildcard spots). How much of a gap do they need before they will concede defeat and give up on the playoff dream? Thats essentially the same winning percentage.... the last 20 is just under the first 62.... its .575 vs .588.... (if they got one more point in last 20, it would be higher at .600 vs .588).... so essentially its as close to even as you can get comparing 20 games vs 62, and how the percentage points change. Commandant Posted February 16, 2020 Share Posted February 16, 2020 Yes, after finishing as the 4th worst team in the NHL, they missed the playoffs with 96 points, tying for the most points ever to miss (and being enough points to get in, in all but 2 years in NHL history). But thats besides the point... you said they tanked the last 20 games... that wasn't true. Kinda like your backup goalie stat earlier in the week, and the Claude Julien has missed the playoffs 6 straight seasons before that.
