dlbalr
After a road trip that was an unmitigated disaster, Laval returns home to host Manitoba for a pair of games. (Lines are from their last game.) Poirier - Spacek - Griffith Vesalainen - Gustafsson - Lipon McKenzie - Suess - Reichel Pederson - Maier - White (this is former Hab Ryan White, for anyone interested) Schilling - Nogier Stanley - Kovacevic Oligny - Gawanke Comrie (Lines are a guess with Evans returning and Varone/Barber also coming back from their benchings) Hudon - Kotkaniemi - Evans Peca - Poehling - Barber Varone - Vejdemo - Alain Veilleux - Dauphin - Lynch Alzner - Fleury Olofsson - Lamarche McEneny - Brook Kinkaid (confirmed starter for Wednesday) Puck drop is at 7:00 PM EST on Wednesday and 7:30 PM EST on Friday. 91.9 Sports has the coverage in French. Friday's game is also on RDS.
tomh009
That (speculative) line-up would actually give the Rocket a serious #1 line.
dlbalr
Tonight's lines: Seriously - Peca-Varone-Barber as the fourth line? So Bouchard is effectively doubling down on his stupid decision. They're shooting themselves in the foot again. Olofsson's sick so they've signed Nathanael Halbert out of McGill over playing Ryan Culkin. That says a ton right there.
tomh009
The fourth line still gets a lot of minutes in Laval, does it not?

It's not like some junior teams that rarely roll the fourth line but that group doesn't typically get a ton of five-on-five time. Kinkaid's struggles continue, 2 goals allowed on 4 shots and we're barely 6 minutes in.
tomh009
He is still under contract for another year.

Duh, I thought it was Kinkaid but it turns out that I was actually looking at Lindgren’s contract. Sorry. 😥
dlbalr
Leon Gawanke tied it up midway through the 3rd but Hudon's second goal has restored the lead. 4-3, 3 minutes left.
dlbalr
And they blew the lead late as Michael Spacek tied it up with 1:18 left. Off to OT.

tomh009
It's a point, at least, better than the recent road trip. And two points for each of Evans, Hudon and Kotkaniemi.
Trizzak
I understand putting actual prospects in positions to succeed, but why would any AHL veteran want to sign in Laval after how Varone and Barber have been treated lately?

Because the habs always sign these types of guys by offering a large ahl salary on their two-way deal. Something they cant get from every nhl team. tomh009
Indeed. $450K minors salary is 50% more than Varone got anywhere else before. And Barber's $300K is almost triple his previous best.

After all those minor deals, this trade is huge by MB standards. This is where your bias shows throw... ignoring facts, just to shit on everything MB does. Its why it's nearly impossible to take your critiques seriously.
