Laval travels to Cleveland for a pair of games against the recall-riddled Monsters.  This is a set where they need to get four points in to boost their playoff hopes as the schedule gets a lot tougher afterwards.  Jesse Ylonen is not expected to play in either game.

This laval team has been decimated by callups too

1 potential nhler left at forward.

I'd say Laval's decimation has primarily been from injuries (Belzile, Juulsen - plus Poehling tonight for anyone wondering why he's not in) and trading away capable veterans for nowhere near the same calibre of players coming back.  Recalls haven't helped but it's more than just that.

Fair enough... but the roster is shit.

Good second period for Laval - goals from Pezzetta (I kid you not, he actually did something useful for once), Alain, and Veilleux had the Rocket up three less than halfway through the period.  Cleveland got one back with 20 seconds left, 3-1 after 40 minutes.

Tonight's lines:

The only change is McNiven in goal.  Halbert's in for Fleury again who was injured in the warmup yesterday - Halbert played despite not taking the warmup.  (This is why you always have at least one extra D and F take the skate, just so something like this doesn't happen.)

How bad is Cleveland, they dont score many goals.

Gerbe was doing quite well for them, then was called up and isn't going back.  Stefan Matteau was one of their top scorers and got converted to an NHL deal.  Ryan MacInnis is another of their top scorers up with Columbus.  Markus Hannikainen was one of their point per game guys and was dumped at the deadline in a Peca-esque deal.  It wasn't a great roster to begin with but they've lost quite a few guys to the NHL and it has left them with a middling roster for the time being.
