"He never wanted to leave Long Island.""The Islanders will reportedly pay Czerkawski around $900,000 " MM: "``Everyone knows Mariusz was a good Islander,'' said Milbury. ``He's a real good guy with a great deal of talent and his conditioning is impeccable." lol.. what was he saying when he traded him for Asham ?? It's very sad, because we thought we had find the good winger for Saku. They were ruling the NHL in preseason.. but all felt apart. I kept believing in Mariusz all season long, even when he went back in Hamilton. I still think he'll have a good season next year. Too bad it will be with the Isles [Edited on 2003-7-17 by sakiqc]
Habs77
He's a soft perimeter player with good skill... so he was a terrible fit on an already soft Canadiens team. On the tougher NYI squad he'll have a little more room... and should do better. Bringing him over was a mistake, and an expensive one... we paid him 2.7M to play in the minors last year and then 1.8M to buy him out this year. This has to be a record for the amount of cash a player got in Montreal compared to the number of games played. We don't have any room for him either... he's a top 2 line RW and we already have Audette/Zednik. Not to mention we'd also love to dump Audette so Perezhogin could come in.
