simonus
so this is the game where we prove that the rangers aren't for real? Is it true that Hossa got benched a bit this week?

Spider-Man NL
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=141306&hubname= Habs open home-and-home with Rangers (Sports Network) - The Montreal Canadiens hope to bounce back from their third loss of the season tonight when they welcome the New York Rangers to the Bell Centre in the opener of a home-and-home. The Habs had a three-game winning streak snapped in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss in Ottawa. The Sens' Jason Spezza tallied the game-winner 2:48 into overtime. Mike Ribeiro tallied two goals for the Canadiens, who had their three-game winning streak halted. Michael Ryder notched a goal and two assists while Jose Theodore posted 38 saves in the losing effort. Ribeiro leads the Habs with six goals, while Ryder is right behind with five. Montreal will visit the Rangers on Monday to close out this set. New York, meanwhile, ended a three-game losing skid on Thursday with a 3-1 win over the Islanders at Madison Square Garden. Henrik Lundqvist made 31 saves to anchor the Blueshirts' victory. The Rangers received goals from Martin Straka, Fedor Tyutin, and Blair Betts, as they got a bit of revenge on the Islanders, who swept a home-and-home between the teams last week. Jagr's two assists increased his point streak to eight games (8g, 5a) and is tied for second in the NHL with 17 points (10g, 7a). Through 11 games, Jagr is already almost a third of the way to his goal total of 31 during the 2003-04 season. The Canadiens posted a 4-3 overtime win against the Rangers on October 6 and is 7-1-1 in the last nine meetings overall.
VaughanHabfan
I hope we see a great game with our Habs coming out on top with a victory. 3-1 Habs :hlogo::ghg::ghg::hlogo:
MAK
I'm there tonight...I hope we'll have a good game. now with two potent scoring lines. spider man, I hope your line up is correct..i'd rather see streit than dagenais
GoHabs2002
This is the first game I won't watch in its entirety. I've gotta Halloween thing to do. Big game boys, close out the month with a Rangers sweep. I expect a split of the home and home. Tonight: 5-3 Habs (with an empy netter). Zednik, Kovelov, Perezhogin (PP) , Bulis, Markov (PP) Ribeiro with 2 assists, Kovelov with 1 assist, Koivu with 2 assists. Rangers: Jagr and Poti
Dalhabs
We need Theo to be playing top hockey tonight. Lundqvist is for real and Weekes will be a permanent doorwatcher soon. Prediction: HABS: 3 (Zednik, Bouillon, Kovalev) Rags: 2 (Hossa (new LeClair?), Jagr)

Hmm.. there's something familiar about that...
Prime Minister Koivu
This is a big game for us. The Habs have a few players that need to maintain or build their confidence after some crappy plays against the Sens. Souray, Zednik, Streit for sure. The Rangers are the type of team that will allow our top line to really be an offensive threat. Teams like Philly shut it down pretty well. I expect a big night for Kovalev. A night that will set in motion a real tear for him. 7-4 Habs :ghg:
Komisarek the Cruncher
For once, I want a massacre. Can we finally win one by killing the other team??? Besides Jagr's line, they have nothing. Lets shut down that line (Markov will take care of Jagr like the last game vs. the Rangers) and kick some ass. 6-2 Habs !!!
habsfan88
first key is to shut down jagr. if we can hold him to no points then we have a great chance at killing them tonight.
GoHabs2002
Yeah. Weird - it seems Hossa got off to a really good start, and then just suddenly tailed off, and now he's not seeing icetime. Hmm.. there's something familiar about that... Right on! Hossa's making his mark with the Rangers! Good call Gainey. Even if Hossa gets out of it and scores 25, the Habs didn't need him or his inconsistent play. It's obvious the managment is building a team based on specific characteristics and attributes and he didn't have them. :ghg:
revvvrob
is there no chance that Danis gets the start tonight? when is he next scheduled?
Komisarek the Cruncher
Originally posted by revvvrobis there no chance that Danis gets the start tonight? when is he next scheduled? Theo as been confirmed for tonight. Julien didn't mention when Danis would get another start. We are playing 2 games in a row this coming Monday and Tuesday and Friday and Saturday, so my guess is that Danis will get the start in one of those games. simonus
you have to play Theo after the game he had against the Senators.
Prime Minister Koivu
Originally posted by simonusyou have to play Theo after the game he had against the Senators. Why didn't they play Danis after his shut out?
GoHabs2002
Because Danis is a back-up goalie. He's only there to provide periodic releif to Theo. I also don't believe, and neither does Julien I think, of playing Theo just because he had a good start in the previous game. I expect Danis to get the second Rangers game or the first Buffalo game. bebehabs
oh come on~ why always ask for DANIS to be in the net???? theo having a bad game : why not danis? theo playing a good game : why not danis? wake up guys~~~ even if danis win or play well and stops everything, he'll only play when the schedule needs him (2 games in 2 nites) or SOMETIMES for 3 gamesi n 5 nites if we r on the road~ etc~ *sigh***
mathieug
Because he's the rookie goalie filling in for the injured backup. Danis is a solid prospect with a bright future but you can't put to much presure on the kid. They're bringing him along slowly. Don't expect him to start back to back games. I still believe it would be better for Danis to play in the AHL right now, the kid needs ice time!
bebehabs
HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM???? rds.ca is saying that DAGENAIS is going to be in the line up and STREIT won't take part of the game~~~ well... get another goal dagenais~~~ :/) http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/190982.html
GOHABSGO22
Danis will play on Monday so theo could play at home on tuesday (thats what they said on CJAD). I am going to the game I can't wait.
