It might have been a problem with his skate?

i think on the pre-game TVA report they were wondering if he was hurt in the last game when he hit the boards feet first (?)

Maybe he twisted an ankle or has a bruise

Great PK! Allen might have gotten a bit lucky on that McDavid backhand, but was very solid otherwise.

Luck is part of the goaltender's permitted equipment, just like the goalposts! :gohabsgo:

He took a bump late in Saturday's game and didn't play the final five minutes or so if I'm not mistaken.

And they kill them off

Pk much much better than against TOR

I'm certainly happy that those penalties didnt turn into the Leaf game.

Allen is looking decent for sure.

Evans is sent to the taxi squad for a day, gets called back up -> scores.

Romanov is sent to the taxi squad for a day, gets called back up -> scores.

Send Kotkaniemi next.

Send all four at once.

*Suzuki being the other waiver exempt player

Thought the same, but a look at the stats shows he actually finished the game on-the-ice, and had one more shift in the third than any other period (of course the last was only 4 seconds)

That should be a goal

Good goal it was.

2-0 heading into the third.

Good on Julien to challenge that call.  Petry only made contact with the other dman and not the one that went into the goalie.   Was funny that the Habs had both of their dmen behind the Oiler's goal line.  🤪

A solid period overall although there weren't a lot of high-quality chances for the gap in shots.  Nice play on the bank by Weber and a good call to challenge.  I think it's the right call but I wouldn't have been shocked had they kept it as is as it was close.
