For anyone interested in watching:

This will probably be the Toronto feed which will mean Todd Crocker will be on the call.  The mute button is strongly encouraged.

The Leafs traded Mikko Lehtonen to Columbus today so while he was set to make his AHL debut tonight, that obviously won't happen now.

19 minutes ago, DON said:

Mysak is a centre eh, how has he looked?

About as expected.  Some good moments and others where he's out of his league.  But that's to be expected from someone that's one of the youngest players in the league who shouldn't even be there until 2022-23.  They're limiting his minutes which is smart but he has shown enough to be intrigued by the upside.

Bad news - Laval failed to score on a 5-minute PP after Scott Sabourin was thrown out for starting a fight after getting called for goalie interference on the opening shift.

Good news - Blandisi scored just past the midway point of the first, 1-0 Laval.

Ylonen brings it to within one at 3-2, but then the Rocket PP falls apart and it's a two-goal difference again. I think Schueneman has been on the ice for every one of the Marlies goals. Ugh.

One more period left to make up the deficit. Need to get some shots on goal not from the blueline ... look at the difference in the shot patterns through two:

The existence of the taxi squad definitely does not help Bouchard, but I expect much of the same is true for most other AHL teams. Ylonen and Brook looked pretty good, as did Blandisi, except for his pointless tangle with Galchenyuk.

However, I thought Ylonen was shooting too much from the point, he's no Weber or Petry, rather than using his wrister closer to the goal. Is Bouchard using him as a substitute D for some plays because he doesn't have a hard-shooting defenceman?

Ylonen six (!) shots, and Brook, Leskinen and Weal with four each. That's 18 of the total 34 shots Rocket sent toward the Marlies' goal.
