the deserved lines

i think that so far the players that deserve to be at the top of the lineup should be regardless of their rookie status:

when kovalev gets back i would like to see this:

perez-koivu-kov

zed-plek-ryder

higgins-bonk-begin

bulis-ribs-sund

use the fourth liners as specialists mainly

I would tweak that just a tad... but keeping the top 2 lines the same way.

Perez - Koivu - Kovy

Zed - Plex - Ryder

X - Bonk - Sundstrom

Higgins - Begin - Bulis

I think we should find some way to ditch ribs/dags for a 3rd liner and/or a defenseman.

I know that I've got two left wingers on the 4th line, but I really think that those 3 guys would be quite a good energy line.

(Of course, you could alwayz put Bulis up to the 3rd line and obtain a 4th liner to complement Begin and Higgins.)

Come on guys.

Dags and Ribero seem to be clicking again.

If the Habs were to trade both of them right now it would not pose well for the team.

Personally I believe if the Habs are to trade both of those players it will not be for a 3rd line winger.

Once again it is not good business sense to trade players when they are worthless, it would be better if they do want to trade the pair to let them continue to produce for a couple of weeks to up their value.

I never said we should do the trade this minute... plus, Kovalev isn't even back yet, and he's on that line-up. When everyone is healthy again, there's going to be some adjusting to do. Somthing's got to give.

Anywayz, my reason for trading Ribs is simply that he's not a 4th line player, and I believe Plekanec deserves that 2nd line spot unless he completely breaks down.

And it often seems that Ribs is always looking for Dags on the ice, the two only play together.

Plex has also shown he can be an asset in the face-off circle, a place where Ribs has struggled.

With many suggesting that the game has started to slow down again, it would be no wonder that Ribs and Dags are doing better... they excelled in the Old NHL. However, the faster NHL has proved to be a problem for both of them, as they aren't as speedy on their feet as lets say... Plekanec.

Anyways, my opinion is, and will forever be biased as I'm not a big fan of Ribeiro and Dagenais... and I'm sure some will agree with me, and some wont. But I mean, that's what it's all about right?

Also, I don't like only using 3 lines... If you want your guys to be able to play the full 60 minutes, you've got to roll all 4. If we don't start doing this, there are going to be some serious break-downs at the end of the season b4 playoffs.

I really like Ribs on the powerplay. He reminds me of Jason Spezza the way he walks in and handles the puck in his position (right near the face-off circle). And Dags has a great shot which is great for all times and in the shootout.

I concur.

I also agree with your above mentioned lines, although I would like to see Zednik and Perezhogin switched.

Perezhogin/Plekanec/Ryder.

Good Point...

Switch my 3rd line w/ the 4th line... ;):D.

Perez - Koivu - Kovalev

Zednik - Plex - Ryder

Higgins - Begin - Bulis

X - Bonk - Sunny D

now we're getting close to my original lines again:P

i was thinking of making a lineup w/o dags and ribs but who knows what we would get back in a trade so thats just a bit too speculative.

i think that bonk does deserve that third centre position because he has been playing hurt or sick or both most of the season and should get more of a chance to prove himself......although higs-begin-bulis sounds like a good combo

i too believe in rolling four lines, its just that with the amount of special teams play, a fourth line made up pp and pk specialists could be useful. the line would be used together a few times each game and the members of this line would remain fresh for special teams.
