Habs77
That's what Sportsnet reported yesterday, said Dallas would love to dump more salary... and Guerin has been asked to waive his no-trade. No word on whether they had a potential deal in place or were just seeing if Guerin was open to the idea. They also have Turgeon's UGLY contract to deal with, you know the one signed by Gainey (as was Audette's). The Stars have tried to negotiate a buyout, but they don't want to pay 2/3 of the 7.5M per for 3 years that's left (not sure about the exact amount & length). They want a bargain buyout and Turgeon isn't stupid enough to accept less for nothing. They'll waive him but that won't change anything, in the end they might have to let him play... or try to make his life miserable and send him to the minors. Exactly like the Audette situation. Just a nice reminder that not everything Gainey will touch will turn to gold...
CerebusClones
Guerin is good, but not anywhere as good as people give him credit for. He's not even close to being a point a game man. He was hardly a 30 goal scorer before playing in Boston. However, in Boston, he was playing with perhaps the best NHL player today, Joe Thornton. Heck, even Knuble and Murray have become super snipers playing with this guy. And before that, playing with Jason Allison didn't hurt either. Now he's out of Boston, and back to his good, but not that great, self. He's earning about 9M this year, so they might be stuck with him... Id love to have him on this team, but at that price, and with the new CBA coming :-^
