Nothing To Do With Anything

Although I don't know of anyone who checks CNN to get their sports updates, I still am quite surprised to learn that CNN will no longer be getting their sports from Sports Illustrated. Instead, their official sports content provider starting next month will be...Bleacher Report? That's right, the collection of pointless slideshows, lopsided trade proposal articles, and incessant requests to give your e-mail address for team newsletters (and lots of spam mail) is now the official sports information providers for one of the USA's top news sites? Really?

Bleacher Report is on a mission to revolutionize the way fans learn, think, and talk about their favorite teams.

That's what I'm afraid of...when I want to read an article, I want the full text, I don't want to to have to click an arrow 10 times to read the full thing. How anyone, especially a place like CNN (or any other even quasi-professional outlet), thinks that slideshows are the wave of the present/future for sports journalism is beyond me.

That one has been for a while now, I remember sending him a note months ago to congratulate him.

For anyone who enjoys Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole on TSN's Sportscentre, enjoy them now as they will be leaving towards the end of next month. They'll be joining Fox Sports 1, a new US-based cable channel debuting this coming August. (It will replace Speed Network.) I had read a while ago that the FS1 was going to be bringing over a major player in Canada's sports landscape but I figured that it would be an analyst or commentator going, not the highlight guys.

My girlfriend broke her nose playing softball and will be wearing this : http://29.img.v4.skyrock.net/7689/8987689/pics/2133780399_small_1.jpg for 7 days.

I can't help but believe that everyone is judging me and think that I beat the shit out of her. Bad feeling...

At least, there is a team full of people that witnessed the accident and know that I was 1,5 hour driving distance from it. :)

Two things: 1) I've had enough snow for the year already, 4 feet high snowbanks is plenty high enough...especially when there's still several more weeks of winter and snow on the horizon.

2) An interesting read about the average cost to attend a game for each of the teams in the 4 major sports: http://www.businessinsider.com/nfl-mlb-nba-nhl-cost-2014-1#ixzz2prCM0bst I'm baffled by how much parking costs for the Dallas Cowboys (keep in mind the figure in the chart is half the price as it's assumed the cost is split between two people).

Yeah, and good luck finding one for $6.50 in Columbus. I recall an article stating Montreal and Columbus were the two most expensive beers in the NHL. That is canceled out somewhat by the inflated parking cost. The garage across the street from the arena is $10, so would be $5 per person, not that stated $7. Maybe they averaged that out with the VIP parking garage attached to the arena. Of course, I bypass all of that and park 3 blocks away in a garage that is not even event parking anymore, so I only pay $4 to park, haha.

Here's another site citing the $6.53; everything is equalized to 12 ounces. The Bell Centre situation is also mentioned specifically in there. http://lastwordonsports.com/2013/02/25/the-skinny-on-beer-prices-from-around-the-nhl/

Yeah ok. But thruth is : you cannot buy any beer at the Bell Centre for $6,53. For a comparison purpose, it's fine, but it doesn't represent the reality in Montreal.

That makes more sense, although I can't remember a sporting event having 12 oz beers, haha. Seems like everything is a double can (24oz) at minimum.
