Peter Puck
Contrary to what I have read everywhere else I just discovered that the real standings are: 6. New Jersey 7. Montreal 8. Tampa Bay Everyone, including our own front page, seems to be using goal differential as the third tie breaker. Here is the correct procedure according to nhl.com. Tie Breaking Procedure If two or more clubs are tied in points during the regular season, the standing of the clubs is determined in the following order:1. The fewer number of games played (i.e., superior points percentage).2. The greater number of games won.3. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing.4. The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season. We have played all 4 of our games against the Lightning. We won on Nov. 8, Dec. 28 and Mar. 4 and lost Mar. 13. All four games were decided in regulation. Edited April 1, 2006 by Peter Puck

kaos
How about worrying about Tie Breakers when the last game is played. Thats when it really matters. So much is probably going to change in the next 10 games, one of those 3 teams, MOntreal, Tampa or Jersey could be completley out of the picture. You just never know
Westcoast_Habsfan
Who really cares about tiebreakers at this point.... wait until the last games have been played and then try and figure it out because it could change on a nightly basis

By next Saturday, it could look far different than today, nevermind next week

bombTHEice
Peter Puck for HW Nostradamus! Yea, we should find a new HW Nostradamus - the first one left the forum as we gave him this title ... BTW. @Peter Puck: Why is Duncan Milroy one of your favourite players?
