Tony
I guess Roenick couldn't find a Canadian team to deal with...or the Coyotes gave him big money...
InsaneHABSfan
The Avs could use Perreault, we haven't had a super faceoff guy in a while. Even Sakic goes into his faceoff slumps. Because he takes all the faceoffs...
jetsniper
Because he takes all the faceoffs... heh, true enough. The last time we had a really good faceoff guy was when we had Niko and he went back to Russia.
Tony
Apparently the Blues are out of the Shanahan sweepstakes.
jetsniper
So the off-season has left me totally underwhelmed. Bye Tanguay, Bye Blake (dipsbit), Bye Hinote. Hello Leopold and Arnason? I wish we'd atleast sign our crapload of RFA's. And I don't want Shanahan to sign with the Wings. If we're going down, I want to see the Wings come down with us. sakiqc
I guess Roenick couldn't find a Canadian team to deal with...or the Coyotes gave him big money... Other possible explanations: -Although he said he changed his cellphone number, he didn't say he kept it private. He didn't want to move to far away from his L.A./Hollywood friends to keep his phone bills low. -Someone told him he cannot play golf during winter in Canada. -He didn't know Canada wasn't a US state -Not the first time he uses Canada as a threat. He threatened to cheer for Canada if he wasn't pick in the US olympic team (http://msnbc.msn.com/id/10390844/). Now he threatened to go to Calgary before Phoenix sent him an offer. He finally didn't flew up to meet with the Flames. He said "It's more of a pride issue for me and being close to my family." Alright lol http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews...ts/14967231.htm BTW, JR also said last month that "returning to the Hawks is his priority." Not for nothing he is considered one of the biggest mouth is sports. http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews...ts/14811131.htm

smon
I guess the Wings don't want Aebischer. "Free agent goaltender Ed Belfour is expected in Detroit today. The Red Wings want to put him through a rigorous physical because he's 41 and coming off back surgery" http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=10460&hubname= The Stars are expected to sign free agent Jeff Halpern; four year deal worth 2M a yr. Tony
Holland is weird. He wants a #1 goalie and he seems afraid to trade but I don't blame him. Guys like Giggy or Toskala don't come cheap.
smon
You can't blame him, Buffalo wants a lot for Biron. And the Sharks passed on Marty Havlat for Toskala.

kenadian
With Calgary signing Freisen, (from TSN) their up to 40.422 mil.....for 20 guys They go anybody we can use?? :king: I can imagine when Phaneuf's current contract is up (471,200) he'll be looking for a huge raise; and Calgary will have to dump some salary to resign him Edited July 5, 2006 by kenadian
smon
Well, depends. Anyone know who their UFAs are? If theyre not in playoff contention they're all gonna be dumped
jetsniper
They signed Tanguay to a 5 mil deal today too...shouldn't that put them over the cap now? Way to go Sutter, 5 mil is TOOOOO much for Tanguay.

BTH
Kings acquire Cloutier for an 07 2nd and a conditional 2009 pick. Randy Robitaille to Philly. Cajanek resigns with St Louis. Andy Hilbert signs with NYI (this guy was great for Pittsburgh)
smon
Spacek is a stellar top four guy. Really underrated in Chicago.
jetsniper
Wow, I thought it'd take the Canucks longer then that to unload Cloutier. Poor Kings.
